Attributing the Work of Satan to God: Similarity Number Thirteen Between the False Church of Nazi Germany and Today’s Growing False Global Church

By Brannon S. Howse

Hitler convinced Germans that he was a Christian and friend of the Church. In truth, though, he befriended only the false church, certainly not the true one. When Hitler survived the July 20, 1944, assassination attempt, he used a national radio address in the early morning of July 21st to tell the German people that his survival was because God had protected him. “I take this as confirmation,” he said, “of my assignment from Providence to continue to pursue my life’s goal as I have done hereto.”

Yet the evidence is overwhelming that Hitler hated God and true believers, used the false church, and persecuted the true Church. The global false church is filled with people who hate the true church and call for a civil war in the Church to drive out any who hold too rigidly to their doctrine. People committed to the some of the same beliefs as Hitler and his men are leading a global false church in the same pagan spirituality, mysticism, and occult practices. Hitler, like many leaders of the false global church, attributed the work of Satan to God and the Holy Spirit. For this reason, the Bible warns us of false teachers who are demonically controlled:

1 John 4:1—Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1 Timothy 4:1-2—Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.

Mark 13:22—For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

2 Corinthians 11:13-14—For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Much of the Word of Faith (WOF) and New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) attribute to God the work of Satan, and instead of being rejected by self-described evangelicals and Christian leaders, the NAR and WOF are gaining acceptance. On July 21, 2011, Business Insider called the New Apostolic Reformation “the fastest-growing religious movement you’ve never heard of.”
