“Evangelical” Leaders Form Unholy Alliance with Pro-gay, Pro-abortion, Globalists to Fight Global Warming?

Did you hear the news? 85 “evangelical” leaders have come together and formed a coalition to bring attention to an issue. Is it, abortion, same-sex marriage, training Christians in Biblical evangelism or calling churches back to the Bible? No! Sad to say, this group of 85 “evangelical” leaders has not organized to confront any of these serious issues facing America or the church but to save us from burning up due to global warming. As if this is not bad enough, the initiative of these “Christian leaders” is being funded by pro-abortion, pro-same-sex marriage, globalist foundations.

Many in the group of 85 are pastors and “Christian” leaders who would rarely, if ever, take a stand publicly on moral issues, like abortion and homosexuality. However, now they are leading a crusade that is making national headlines on what is not only a “political” issue but an issue adored by members of the secular left like former Vice-President Al Gore and Hollywood’s wackiest.

During a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, organized by the Evangelical Environmental Network, a newly formed coalition called the Evangelical Climate Initiative, released a statement signed by more than 85 “evangelical” leaders.

Some of the global warming gad flies that signed the Climate Change: An Evangelical Call to Action include, Rick Warren, author of Purpose-Driven Life and pastor at Saddleback Church, Senior Pastor of Woodale Church in Eden Prairie, MN and former National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) president Leith Anderson. World Vision president Rich Stearns, Salvation Army national commander Todd Bassett, Christianity Today editor David Neff and executive editor Timothy George and Wheaton College president Duane Litfin.

In January of 2006, twenty evangelical leaders wrote a letter to the president of the National Association of Evangelicals, Ted Haggard, urging him not to adopt "any official position" on global climate change because "Bible-believing evangelicals . . . disagree about the cause, severity and solutions to the global warming issue."

Paul Driessen, senior policy adviser for the Congress of Racial Equality and author of Eco-Imperialism: Green Power ∙ Black Death, recently stated, “By making energy less affordable and accessible, mandatory controls (on greenhouse-gas emissions) would drive up the costs of consumer products, stifle economic growth, cost jobs, and impose especially harmful effects on the earth’s poorest people.”

The group of 85 appear to be ignorant of the harm that would come to our economy from such treaties as the Kyoto Protocol, which is a dangerous international agreement to fight greenhouse gas emissions. This treaty would give a pass to some of the world’s biggest polluters such as China and India, while putting America under the thumb of the United Nations and many of their anti-American member countries.

However, in fairness we need to cut the group of 85 some slack since most of them are not businessmen that live in the “real world.” The group of 85 is largely a group of non-profit, academic, pencil pushers that would not know the first thing about what it takes to run a for-profit business.

It is bad enough that so many of these “evangelical”, environmental extremists have infected our churches, colleges, universities and evangelicalism with their liberal brand of Christianity but now they want to damage America’s free enterprise system by making it difficult for business to compete in the world market place?

The group’s efforts are being funded by such liberal organizations as the Rockefeller Brothers Fund which has given grants to such radical environmental groups as Greenpeace. Let’s not forget that it was the Rockefellers that donated the land and formed the United Nations.

According to a press release by the pro-life group, Human Life International the Rockefeller Brothers Fund supports many anti-Christian ideals and organizations including the United Nation’s Millenium Peace Summit:

The United Nations Millenium Peace Summit called for organized religions to support the United Nations' world peace aims. Among the items for consideration is the Charter for Global Democracy, which has been described as the new "Ten Commandments" for the world.  The summit is a project of the United Religions Initiative (URI), along with other groups. The URI favors abortion, sex education, same-sex marriage, and population control.  The event is being funded, among other private entities, by the United Nations Foundation…. and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

Another group funding the initiative of the group of 85, is the Hewlett Foundation. According to the website of lifesite.net, in 2001, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation approved a grant of $600,000 to International Planned Parenthood Foundation (IPPF) to provide "sexual and reproductive health services to adolescents in Brazil, Ecuador and Peru."

In an article on Crosswalk.com by David Thibault we read:

“Eric Brown, communications director for the Hewlett Foundation, which contributed $2 million to CRR (The Center for Reproductive Rights) over the last three years, refused to comment about the foundation's apparent decision to avoid the use of the word "abortion" on its website. The Hewlett Foundation, according to its website, "makes grants to address the most serious social and environmental problems facing society ... The Foundation places a high value on sustaining and improving institutions that make positive contributions to society."

Need I provide you with more evidence that the environmental initiative being promoted by the group of 85 is being funded through an unholy alliance?  It does not take a rocket scientist to do a word search on the groups that are funding their cause and find out what unbiblical values they embrace and fund.

Why did this group of 85 not do a little home-work before reportedly taking their funds and aligning themselves with such a web and cross pollination of anti-Christian, same-sex marriage supporting, abortion funding, United Nations loving extremists? Do they agree with these organizations and their policies and efforts?

Behold my friends, the discernment, brain-trust and leadership behind some of today’s leading churches, colleges, Christian publications and Christian organizations.

This is an emerging brand of Christianity that is assisting in and giving credibility and cover to groups in favor of globalism, the end of national sovereignty, tyranny and eventually the persecution of Christians.  Let’s face it; the environmental initiative of many of today’s popular “Christian” leaders is being funded by some of the most anti-Christian, anti-American, globalist organizations. Follow the money trail.

The group of 85 is nothing less than the secular left’s Trojan horse that has been placed inside evangelical circles. The question is; does the group of 85 know they are being used? If so, what does that say about the group of 85? If they don’t know they are being used what does that tell you about their discernment? Can you really follow any of these “evangelical” leaders that are either complicit or ignorant in their involvement with such anti-Christian, globalist organizations?

In an article written by Paul Nussbaum in the Philadelphia Inquirer published on January 8th, 2006, entitled “The Purpose Driven Pastor” we read something that is very telling about Rick Warren’s brand of Christianity:

Warren predicts that fundamentalism, of all varieties, will be "one of the big enemies of the 21st century."

Warren is quoted in the article as saying:

Muslim fundamentalism, Christian fundamentalism, Jewish fundamentalism, secular fundamentalism - they're all motivated by fear. Fear of each other.

To all my friends that can not swallow the grape cool-aid of Rick Warren and other such leaders fast enough; don’t tell me I did not warn you a long time ago to literally and figuratively stop buying what they are selling.

If the National Association of Evangelicals does not immediately dismiss any of the group of 85 that are members of NAE, then it will be clear to all what the NAE really is and has been for sometime—A joke.

I pray this article reveals that many of today’s most popular authors, convention speakers, pastors and “Christian” leaders are really empty suits with a deficiency of Biblical discernment and the most common of common sense.

Sadly, many of the darlings of the American Christian church have little, if any, commitment to Biblical truth, the inerrancy of the Bible, the Biblical plan of salvation, Biblical evangelism and the Biblical definition of a true Christian.

The Bible warns us to be careful of false teachers as well as to be highly suspect of those that are popular and praised among the masses. When Warren’s book sold millions of copies and made him the darling of the liberal media, my red flags went up.

Look beyond Warren’s book to his numerous media interviews, projects and associations and you will see Warren is not a conservative evangelical Christian having publicly voiced his opinion that fundamentalist Christians are the “enemies of the 21st Century”.

If you love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, if you have surrendered your life to Him, if you are eternally grateful that He offered Himself as a sacrifice and shed His blood to atone for our sins; then I invite you to reject and oppose the vain philosophies of America’s emerging church leaders.

I am calling on Pastors, Christian leaders and laymen to reject fades, trendy books and politically correct causes and return your churches, colleges, universities, seminaries, Bible studies and Sunday school classes to the reading, teaching and preaching of the Word of God alone.

Evangelicalism can not afford to take its cues from the likes of Rick Warren and other leaders, such as the group of 85, which have shown such unbiblical discernment.
