Pope Francis, Bishop of Rome and Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, who worked to instill progressive influences on the global church while maintaining unity with conservatives amid years of turmoil, died Monday morning, Vatican Cardinal Kevin Farrell announced.

He was 88 years old.

The Vatican said Francis’s cause of death was heart failure due to a stroke.

Vice President JD Vance had just met with Francis at the Vatican on Easter Sunday, just hours before he died early Monday morning.

Vance wrote:

“I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him. I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill. But I’ll always remember him for the homily he gave in the very early days of COVID. It was really quite beautiful. May God rest his soul.”

Francis was the Roman Catholic Church’s first Jesuit pope and was a committed globalist and socialist. Many believe he was a Marxist. 

During Covid, Pope Francis pushed the lockdowns and the devastating Covid mRNA injections. The pope said it was the “moral obligation” for all Catholics to get their shots.

He was also the first pope to speak persistently about diversity, equity and inclusion with respect to LGBTQ lifestyle. 

He called for unfettered immigration, legal or illegal, of Muslims into Western nations.

He fired many conservative bishops around the world and declared virtual war on the traditional Latin mass, attended by millions of conservative Catholics.

I would say there’s a good chance that the next pope will be, at least on the surface, more moderate and less divisive. The papacy is a key position of global influence that bears watching because of its capacity to foment a peace deal that would somehow lead to the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. We’ll keep you posted on any new developments.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is on the hotseat, with the media calling for his ouster after he fired three of his top aides for allegedly leaking information to the press.

Hegseth is not taking these new allegations sitting down, lashing out at “disgruntled former employees” for leaks and reassuring that he and President Trump are “on the same page all the way.”

Responding to new reporting from The New York Times, Hegseth said:

“What a big surprise that a few leakers get fired and suddenly a bunch of hit pieces come out from the same media that peddled the Russia hoax.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters Monday that the president “absolutely has confidence” in Hegseth. 

Of course, the fake news refused to drop it and conjured up a story that the White House has begun a search for a new defense secretary. Leavitt was quick to destroy that narrative completely.

Ultra-liberal Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) issued a dark warning to El Salvador’s President and other foreign leaders working with President Trump, cautioning that Democrats will punish them when they regain power.

In a recent episode of “Pod Save America,” Raskin spoke with host and former Obama aide Tommy Vietor about the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant living in Maryland who was deported and sent to prison in his home country of El Salvador despite a 2019 court order prohibiting him from being sent back there. 

While at a White House meeting with Trump last week, El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, said his nation will not send Abrego Garcia back to the United States, even after the Supreme Court upheld an order for the federal government to “facilitate” his return.

The former Obama aide, Mr. Vietor, said a Latin America policy expert suggested to him that “Democrats should threaten to take action against any foreign government that participates in the extraordinary rendition of American citizens.” He listed cutting off future aid and seeking to prosecute foreign officials as possible forms of retaliation.

Raskin, who is the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said he liked the idea, calling it a “complement to something that we need to be doing right now, which is engaging in far more work of transnational democratic solidarity with the democratic governments and the democratic movements and peoples and parties of the world to try to prevent the spread of the lawlessness and the fascist chaos that’s been unleashed against us.”

But implicit in it, Raskin continued, “should be the idea that if and when we come back to power, and we will, we are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated … authoritarianism in our country. That’s an assault on our Constitution and on our people.”

Notice how the Democrats always refer to their brand of fascist tyranny as “democracy” while labeling the opposition as fascists.

Of all the appointees that President Trump made in his first term, the one he may regret the most is Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. With a year left in his tenure and a clear reluctance to help America through these tough times because of political reasons, Powell must decide whether to lose face and do what’s right or continue to defy economic common sense.

President Trump isn’t making it easy on him, launching another attack on Truth Social, where he said preemptive cuts in Interest Rates are being called for by many, if only Powell would listen.

Trump further stated:

“With Energy Costs way down, food prices (including Biden’s egg disaster!) substantially lower, and most other things trending down, there is virtually No Inflation. With these costs trending so nicely downward, just what I predicted they would do, there can almost be no inflation, but there can be a SLOWING of the economy unless Mr. Too Late, a major loser, lowers interest rates, NOW. Europe has already lowered seven times. Powell has always been Too Late, except when it came to the election period when he lowered in order to help Sleepy Joe Biden, later Kamala, get elected. How did that work out?”

Wall Street stocks plummeted Monday in reaction to the Trump-Powell feud.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on Monday sent a resubmitted criminal-referral letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, demanding the Department of Justice pursue charges against disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for lying under oath during pandemic-era investigations.

The letter, addressed directly to Bondi, accuses Cuomo of violating 18 U.S.C. §1001, a federal statute prohibiting false statements on October 30, 2024, to a House select subcommittee on the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the letter:

“To our knowledge, the Biden Administration ignored this referral despite clear facts and evidence. Accordingly, we request you review this referral and take appropriate action.”

The criminal referral centers on Cuomo’s claim that he played no role in drafting a now-infamous New York State Department of Health report that cleared his administration of wrongdoing over its deadly nursing home policy.

The Gateway Pundit reported multiple times in 2020 how Governor Cuomo ordered sick COVID patients back into nursing homes in the state. As a result, thousands of elderly people needlessly died in the state.

Then when the official counts of deaths in state nursing homes were requested from the DOJ, the numbers were fudged. The numbers reported were undercounted by at least 50%.

An investigation into Cuomo’s actions was put in place and Cuomo resigned as governor. However, the investigation into illegal actions by Cuomo related to the huge number of nursing home deaths was dropped by both the Biden DOJ and the Manhattan DA.

Chairman Comer stated:

“Andrew Cuomo is a man with a history of corruption and deceit, now caught red-handed lying to Congress during the Select Subcommittee’s investigation into the COVID-19 nursing home tragedy in New York. This wasn’t a slip-up; it was a calculated cover-up by a man seeking to shield himself from responsibility for the devastating loss of life in New York’s nursing homes.”

He added that lying to Congress is a federal crime and Cuomo “must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem fell victim to a thief while eating dinner at a downtown Washington, DC, restaurant Sunday night, the secretary confirmed Monday.

Noem, who was asked about the theft at the White House Easter Egg Roll, acknowledged the incident and said the matter has not been resolved.

The Secret Service, which provides security for Noem, reviewed security camera footage at the Capital Burger restaurant and saw an unknown white male wearing a medical mask steal her bag and leave the restaurant, a law enforcement source said.

The thief got away with Noem’s driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks, and about $3,000 in cash.

The Secret Service has launched an investigation to trace any use of Noem’s financial instruments, the person added.

A DHS spokesman said:

“Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren; she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts.”

Tech Crunch reports that some ChatGPT users have noticed a strange phenomenon recently: Occasionally, the chatbot refers to them by name as it reasons through problems. 

That wasn’t the default behavior previously, and several users claim ChatGPT is mentioning their names despite never having been told what to call them.

Reviews are mixed. One user, software developer and AI enthusiast Simon Willison, called the feature “creepy and unnecessary.” Another developer, Nick Dobos, said he “hated it.” A cursory search of X turns up scores of users confused by, and wary of, ChatGPT’s first-name basis behavior.

“It’s like a teacher keeps calling my name, LOL,” wrote one user. “Yeah, I don’t like it.”

It’s not clear when, exactly, the change happened, or whether it’s related to ChatGPT’s upgraded “memory” feature that lets the chatbot draw on past chats to personalize its responses. Some users on X say ChatGPT began calling them by their names even though they’d disabled memory and related personalization settings.

OpenAI hasn’t responded to TechCrunch’s request for comment.

A massive volcano in Alaska is now steaming from its summit crater, signaling more signs of unrest. 

Scientists have been keeping a close eye on Mount Spurr, a 11,000-foot-tall volcano that sits just 81 miles from the city of Anchorage, over the past few months due to growing signs it is ready to blow.

In the Alaska Volcano Observatory's (AVO) latest update, scientists said webcam images captured over the weekend showed “continued steaming from the summit crater. This type of steaming is typical for Mount Spurr during this current period of unrest,” their statement reads. 

AVO also noted that seismicity remains elevated as earthquake swarms have been detected beneath Mount Spurr over the past day.

The seismic activity is due to magma rising to the surface, causing stress and cracking in the surrounding rock.

If Mount Spurr does blow, the event would be explosive, Matt Haney, scientist-in-charge at the AVO, previously told DailyMail.com.

He explained that it would spew multiple plumes of ash rising as high as 50,000 feet into the air that may blanket Anchorage — home to nearly 300,000 people — in a layer of dust.

Two military service members have been denied religious exemptions to the flu vaccine and are at risk of being forced out of the military after they previously fought the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

A service member in the Marine Corps and another in the Air Force are facing separation from their respective military branches after submitting Religious Accommodation Requests (RARs) for the flu shot. Both men objected to the COVID vaccine mandate under the Biden administration and ultimately kept their jobs, but they may lose them under President Trump despite the routine approval of religious exemptions for vaccines before COVID.

Marine First Lieutenant Schuyler Skipper, who has served in the military for 15 years, submitted an RAR for the flu and tetanus/diphtheria shots in December 2022. It was denied in March 2023, according to a report of misconduct reviewed by Just the News. He appealed the denial the following month, and his appeal was denied in February 2024.

The next month, Skipper was ordered to take the vaccines “within 10 working days,” the report reads. He then filed a complaint with the Headquarters of the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity office alleging religious discrimination and requested an extension to the vaccine order. Skipper’s extension request was denied in April 2024, and he was informed that he had violated a lawful order. His attorney, R. Davis Younts, told Just the News on Thursday that the religious discrimination complaint was also denied.

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.

Klaus Schwab has resigned from his position as Chairman and member of the Board of Trustees of the World Economic Forum, effective immediately, after 54 years of service.

Initially, he announced he was leaving in 2027.

The WEF expressed gratitude for his leadership and contributions to global dialogue. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, the former CEO of Nestle, has been appointed as interim Chair as the globalist organization begins the search for a permanent successor.

Letmathe once argued that no one has a right to water. He thinks it comes at a price, and we should let the highest bidder take control over the world’s most vital resource.

Schwab left because he’s a walking, talking public relations disaster. A guy who speaks in a halting German accent reminiscent of the Nazi Fuhrer doesn’t exactly instill confidence.

Some say the pope’s death was what prompted Schwab to finally leave office. The timing is curious, but we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors among the world’s elite power brokers. 

Schwab, a German engineer, founded the World Economic Forum in 1971 under the guidance of his mentor, Henry Kissinger, whom he met at Harvard University. Some have speculated that Kissinger helped Schwab set up the WEF with the support of the CIA.

This much we know: Klaus Schwab was highly unpopular and, as more people became aware of the WEF and its agenda, Schwab was a poor frontman for an organization that seeks to dominate the world. I’m frankly surprised that Schwab lasted this long.

With both Pope Francis and Klaus Schwab exiting the world stage, one by death and the other by retirement, that leaves a void in the globalists’ power structure. And you can bet we will end up with replacements that are just as bad, if not worse.
