On Wednesday’s broadcast, I had the privilege of sitting down with Patrick Wood, a leading voice on the rise of technocracy and the host of Technocracy.News on our network every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Central. Patrick joined me to unpack a chilling new development detailed in his latest article, “Technocrats Spark Global War Over Crypto Supremacy,” posted at technocracy.news. What we discussed should alarm every American who values liberty, privacy, and the constitutional framework our founders fought to establish.

The bombshell at the heart of Patrick’s article is this: an executive order signed on March 25, 2025, titled “Modernizing Payments to and from America’s Bank Account,” effectively bans anything other than electronic payments for government disbursements—think Social Security checks, welfare payments, Medicare, Medicaid, you name it. No more paper checks in the mail. If you want your money, you’ll need a bank account, and that money will be delivered digitally. On the flip side, the government is pushing to eliminate cash receipts from citizens as well. In Patrick’s words, this turns the U.S. government into “an electronic cash register.” The implications are staggering.

The Sell: Convenience and Fraud Prevention

The technocrats behind this move—Elon Musk, David Sacks, Marc Andreessen, and others circling the administration—will tell you it’s all about efficiency and security. They’ll point to the jaw-dropping fraud uncovered just this week: $330 million in Small Business Association loans handed out to people under 11 years old, including a nine-month-old who scored a $100,000 loan. They’ll cite the hundreds of billions in unprosecuted fraud, waste, and abuse that plague entitlement programs. “We need to verify people,” they’ll say. “We need to stop sending trillions to ghosts—people who are 150 years old or don’t even exist.” And who could argue with that? It sounds reasonable. It sounds responsible.

But here’s the rub: this isn’t about fixing fraud. It’s about control. The same folks pushing this digital payment system are laying the groundwork for a universal ID system—a “legal identity” that goes far beyond your Social Security number. This isn’t just about making sure you’re you when you cash a check. It’s about tagging every citizen with a digital marker that can be tracked across every database in the country, if not the world. It’s about forcing every American into the banking system, eliminating cash, and giving unelected technocrats the keys to your financial life.

A Constitutional Crisis

Let’s step back for a moment and consider what our founders would say. If we had a constitutional form of government as they envisioned—one where the federal government’s powers are limited and enumerated, with unlisted powers reserved to the states and the people—none of this would even be an issue. The federal government wouldn’t be doling out Social Security, Medicare, or welfare payments in the first place. As I pointed out to Patrick, the founders didn’t even want to open the treasury to the widow of a war hero, arguing that charity isn’t the government’s job—it’s ours, as individuals and communities.

But we’ve slid down that slippery slope. Once you let the government become a dispenser of entitlements, you create a dependency class. And now, those dependent on government checks will gladly comply with this new system—open a bank account, get their digital ID, surrender their privacy—because they need that money to survive. What started as a departure from constitutional principles has opened the door to greater tyranny. The technocrats know this, and they’re exploiting it.

The Technocrat Takeover

Patrick and I dug into the bigger picture: a global war between technocrats and national governments over who will control the crypto space. On one side, you’ve got central banks and figures like Mark Carney—former Bank of England chair and a Trilateral Commission member—who aren’t going anywhere quietly. On the other, you’ve got this new breed of Silicon Valley technocrats pushing a parallel system, possibly distinct from central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), but no less controlling. When Trump first took office, he signed an executive order barring the Federal Reserve from issuing CBDCs. That threw a wrench in their plans. But now, with conferences in D.C. led by “crypto czar” David Sacks, the technocrats are back with a vengeance.

What is technocracy, exactly? At street level, it’s digital tyranny—using technology to track what you buy, where you go, whether you can board a plane or log onto social media. It’s sold as convenience, safety, and efficiency, but it’s really about governing every aspect of your life. Patrick traced this back to the Trilateral Commission, founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski, with a clear goal: a new international economic order. They hijacked the Carter administration’s economic engine, and they’ve been pulling strings ever since—George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and now this latest crop of technocrats all bear their fingerprints.

The Dark Enlightenment Connection

Here’s where it gets even more unsettling. Steve Bannon, a vocal Trump supporter, has been railing against Elon Musk’s influence in the White House. Why? Patrick couldn’t fully explain Bannon’s mindset, but he noted Bannon’s past fondness for Curtis Yarvin’s “dark enlightenment” philosophy—a call to dismantle democracy and replace it with a technocratic elite. Sound familiar? Musk’s “Dark MAGA” hat, worn since November 7, 2024, isn’t just a fashion statement. It’s a signal, a rallying cry for Silicon Valley technocrats to join his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and push this agenda forward.

The Endgame

Patrick’s article embeds a must-watch video, Technocracy: Endgame, an hour-long collage featuring him, James Corbett, and others. It lays bare how technocracy isn’t about politics—it’s about economics. The technocrats want to control all output and consumption, reaping trillions while selling us on “cutting waste.” But as I told Patrick, I see this as a setup for something biblical: the mark of the beast system, where no one can buy or sell without the technocrats’ approval. It’s not here yet, but the foundation is being laid.
