Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

A suspected Muslim terrorist determined to kill as many people as possible drove a pickup truck around barricades that were apparently not properly set up and plowed his vehicle through a crowd of New Year's revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans around 3 a.m. Wednesday, January 1.

At least 15 people were killed and another 25 injured, police said. The investigation has been taken over by the FBI.

After mowing down dozens of people over a three-block stretch on Bourbon Street while reportedly firing shots into the crowd, the terrorist, identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, allegedly got out of the truck wielding a semi-automatic rifle and opened fire on police officers, law enforcement officials told ABC News. 

The FBI stated that it does not believe Jabbar acted alone and the incident was being investigated as an act of terrorism.

Officers returned fire, killing Jabbar, reportedly a U.S. citizen from Texas. At least two police officers were shot and wounded, authorities said.

Improvised explosive devices found in and around the scene on Bourbon Street were apparently found to be viable and investigators were looking for more in the city's French Quarter, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News. The FBI said two devices were found and rendered safe.

An ISIS flag along with weapons were found in the vehicle and investigators were trying to assess the suspect's connection to terror groups, the FBI told the media.

As a precaution, the Sugar Bowl was postponed from Wednesday night to Thursday night. The venue for the game, the Superdome, was locked down for 24 hours.

Jason Williams, the district attorney of Orleans Parrish, which includes New Orleans, told ABC News that investigators conducted a grid search to determine if other explosive devices were planted.

Later in the day on Wednesday, FBI Swat teams arrived at the residence of the suspected terrorist. Some of footage was caught by a drone operator showing a man with his hands up.

Williams, the DA, also said an investigation is underway on whether barricades along Bourbon Street were properly set up at the time of the attack. All indications are, they were not.

The man who allegedly carried out the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Mr. Jabbar, is being investigated for having ties to ISIS. He is reportedly an Army veteran and graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta with a degree in computer information systems.

As reported by multiple news agencies, the truck used to mow down dozens of people went through a border crossing at Eagle Pass, Texas, in November. It is not clear whether that fact is connected to the attacker because the truck was a rental. Regardless, Mr. Jabbar exited the vehicle after ramming through the crowd and started shooting. He was eventually killed by police after a firefight. CPR failed to revive him.

The New Orleans incident was not the only suspected act of terrorism that took place on New Year’s Day.

Video shows a Tesla Cybertruck in flames Wednesday outside Trump Tower in Las Vegas around 8 a.m. The driver was reportedly killed and seven people were injured, according to the Associated Press.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed it was “investigating a vehicle fire at the entrance to Trump Towers,” without elaborating on how it started.

A video taken by a hotel employee shows the Tesla truck parked just outside engulfed in flames and emitting plumes of fire and smoke.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill said police are treating the Tesla explosion as an act of terror, alongside the New Orleans truck-ramming incident.

He said: “With the event that occurred [in New Orleans], and the victims there, and the additional IEDs, so as you can imagine, with an explosion here on our iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, we are taking all of the precautions that we need to take to keep the community safe.”

The Tesla truck was reportedly rigged with a sophisticated detonation system triggered by the driver. The truck was said to be packed with fireworks, camping fuel and other highly explosive material.

Musk, who has become a close friend to President Trump, confirmed that the explosion outside of Trump’s hotel took place in a rented Tesla Cybertruck, just as the terror attack in New Orleans was carried out in a rented pickup truck. 

Musk wrote: “The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. We’ve never seen anything like this.”

People were quick to pick up on the irony of a vehicle made by Musk’s company going up in flames in front of the 64-story luxury building co-owned by Trump.

The SpaceX founder has been tapped to co-lead Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency, and is renting a $2,000-per-night suite at Mar-a-Lago to stay close to him.

One user wrote, “Is someone sending a message?” 

Jeremy Schwartz, acting FBI Special Agent in Charge for the Las Vegas office, said at the news conference, “I know you have a lot of questions. We don’t have a lot of answers.”

And the use of terror was not limited to the United States this week, as migrants in Germany spread their version of Islamic love to the natives.

Immigrants in the German Capital of Berlin rang in the New Year by firing large firework rockets into people’s homes.

In other news, the UK has reportedly ordered 5 million bird-flu vaccines after concerns that the H5N1 strain could lead to the next global health crisis.

As the fifth anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic approaches, the country is preparing for another virus, labeled by the government as “one mutation from being the next Covid.”

Currently, the bird flu cannot spread between humans. However, scientists are monitoring it closely following recent outbreaks in U.S. dairy cattle.

The Express reports that one of the largest flu vaccine providers in Britain is prepared to produce over 100 million pandemic vaccines if required.

The outbreak in the U.S. is what raised alarm bells about the potential risk of the virus.

It has hit several states in the U.S., with California being the latest to declare an emergency after a single case of bird flu was reported in a human. A few days later, Louisiana reported its first so-called severe human case of bird flu.

An eminent American virologist and biochemist is warning the public that bird flu hysteria is a hoax designed to instill fear in the public as part of an effort to push more mRNA vaccines.

Dr. Robert Malone, who is credited as one of the inventors of mRNA technology, warns that bird flu is a “psychological warfare operation.”

Malone asserts that the recent fearmongering about the virus in the corporate media is merely the groundwork for unleashing another round of medical tyranny, similar to what we saw in 2020 and 2021.

Malone says the hysteria over bird flu is intended to scare the public into submission.

He warned that bird flu fearmongering is being used to condition the public to accept more pandemic-style restrictions.

Those restrictions include new waves of lockdowns and mRNA injections, Malone warns.

Lightning reportedly struck multiple famous U.S. buildings on New Year’s Eve.

According to reports, the U.S. Capitol Building and Washington Monument in Washington D.C. sustained lightning strikes.

Former Major League Baseball player Juan Jaime has tragically died suddenly after suffering a heart attack, according to reports.

He was just 37 years old when he died, MLB reporter Hector Gomez revealed in a post to X.

Jaime made several appearances as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves in 2014 and 2015.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Jaime first signed as an amateur free agent with the Montreal Expos at the end of 2004.

The right-hander pitched in the Washington Nationals’ minor league system from 2006-09.

However, his career was derailed by arm injuries.

Former college basketball star and basketball coach Mike Babul also died suddenly over the Christmas break after suffering a massive heart attack.

He was 47.

Babul was a basketball legend in Massachusetts, spending four years with the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Crime prevention activist and former New York City mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa has announced that the Guardian Angels group will resume patrols in the city’s subway system after a woman was burned alive earlier this month. This decision follows the brutal murder and what Sliwa describes as the “Daniel Penny effect,” causing civilians to be hesitant about intervening against criminals.

Speaking at Brooklyn’s Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island subway station, Sliwa said, “We’re going to have to increase our numbers, increase the training, and increase our presence as we did back in 1979,” noting how the group went from 13 to 1,000 members in a single year.

The Guardian Angels are recognized for their distinctive red berets and are known to collaborate with law enforcement to tackle violence on public transit—when law enforcement is willing to cooperate, at least. The organization ceased its previous subway surveillance in 2020.

Sliwa believes that the Guardian Angels’ presence could help calm situations and facilitate communication with police officers on platform patrol. However, a spokesman for Mayor Eric Adams denigrated Sliwa’s efforts as “meaningless stunts,” insisting that the indicted Democrat mayor has already implemented measures to reduce crime.

Violence on the New York City subway was brought to national attention by the Daniel Penny case. Penny, a Marine veteran, was accused of unlawfully killing a black schizophrenic man with a history of assaulting women, by restraining him in a chokehold after he threatened passengers. Penny was cleared of all wrongdoing by a jury.

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.

As many of you may have heard, there was a huge controversy that blew up during the Christmas holiday involving Elon Musk’s call for an expanded use of the H1-B visa program. This is a program that allows well over 120,000 foreign workers into the U.S. each year to work in mostly technology jobs that could be performed by American citizens. Corporations love the program because they can pay the foreign visa holder up to one-third less money than the going rate for American workers and the foreign worker serves as basically a captive to his employer for several years, unable to leave for a higher paying job with another company.

Elon Musk, a native of South Africa, came to America himself on an H1-B visa and later obtained a green card and citizenship.

Now it has come to light that Musk has exploited the same visa program to increase profits at his electric-vehicle company, Tesla, by replacing American workers with H1-B foreign workers.

The National Pulse reports that current and former employees, alongside U.S. Department of Labor data, reveal that Tesla has significantly augmented its H-1B visa requests to fill positions previously held by around 15,000 U.S. workers who were let go in April 2024. The layoffs were widespread across Tesla’s departments but were notably concentrated in Texas and California.

The H-1B visa program allows U.S. companies to hire foreigners for three years, which can be extended once, contingent upon continuous employment with the same sponsoring employer. Criticism has arisen due to potential employer control over foreign workers, sometimes equated with modern indentured servitude.

Musk, who frames himself as a conservative and advocate of Donald Trump’s America-first policies, is showing his true colors for those who are paying attention. He’s not so much America-first as he is Musk-first. What’s good for Musk and his business ventures, he sees as good for America. It should be the other way around.

Musk, along with other tech oligarchs like Peter Thiel, are throwing their support behind Trump because of Trump’s populist appeal. But that doesn’t mean they share all of his announced values. Even Trump’s commitment to America-first values bears watching as Trump has made statements in favor of the H1-B program and admitted that he wants to “bring in a lot of people” as legal immigrants. 

Legal immigration is out of control in this country and has been for many years. It’s time to scale back legal immigrant numbers and eliminate illegal immigration. Call a moratorium until we can deport the illegals and assimilate the legal immigrants who are already here.
