Then John Rood will give us his European Union Up-date, reporting on the EU political activities that are setting the stage for the prophetic scenario of the Bible to be fulfilled.

Jimmy and Dave will discuss Israel's concern over Saudi Arabia developing a Nuke WMD, with the help of China; Turkey's Erdogan, who has a "soft spot" for the Palestinian Terror Group, Hamas; and the Palestinians accusing Israel of using the Abraham Accords to set up Israel's Biblical Borders, today.

The first debate is in the books and it was a contentious one as President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden took to the stage last evening at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Here’s a partial list of items Jim brought to the attention of listeners that were either from the debate or related to it:

–Questions loom about moderator Chris Wallace. Did he lose control? Was he biased against the President, particularly with his line of questioning concerning a comprehensive plan to replace Obamacare?

–Audio from the president regarding the nomination to fill the Supreme Court vacancy.

–Audio from Joe Biden on eliminating the filibuster and packing the Supreme Court, including audio on the latter issue from VP candidate Kamala Harris.

–Biden claimed not to support the Green New Deal in spite of the fact that the Biden/Harris website appears to communicate just the opposite.

–Biden indicated that:

…he’ll put the U.S. back into the Paris Climate Accord.

…the nation will not build any more coal or oil fired power plants.

…ANTIFA is an idea, not an organization.

–Biden wishes that schools would teach more about the Islamic faith.

Yesterday’s Crosstalk dealt with many of the legal mechanics surrounding this choice, while this broadcast looked specifically at the implications surrounding the issue of life.

In the Garden of Eden, the serpent beguiled Eve. Likewise, satanic substitutes for God often look very good. Although popular, the teachings of the occult are the doctrines of demons. As believers, it’s vital for us to understand what the Bible calls “sound doctrine.”

The recent appointment of a lady to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court of the United States has caused an uproar among the opposition political party. That opposition party claims it is an abuse of power. Because of that uproar, Jimmy DeYoung brings the Honorable Sam Rohrer to his Broadcast Table to give us a "Civics 101" course. Sam will give the PTIB listener what the three branches of government are in America and how, and why, the President had to quickly move to fill the vacant seat on the Supreme Court.

As promised, President Trump made his nomination to fill the vacant Supreme Court position known on Saturday. That person is Federal Appeals Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett whose nomination hearing is set to begin October 12th.

Joining Jim to discuss news surrounding this nominee was Mat Staver. Mat is a constitutional attorney, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. He’s argued before all levels of court including landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Mat is an author as well as speaker on the radio programs, Faith and Freedom and Freedom’s Call.

Barrett’s background includes graduating number one in her law school class at Notre Dame as well as acting as a clerk for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Also, when she was nominated to the Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, every clerk sent a letter of support saying how Barrett was qualified to serve on the court. That’s in spite of those who said they had differences of opinion on some issues. Mat indicated that every single faculty member of Notre Dame felt the same way, even those whose have differing judicial philosophies.

Barrett is married and has 7 children, 2 who were adopted from Haiti. If she gets through the confirmation hearings, she will be the first person on the Supreme Court to have school age children.

Chuck Schumer and Pat Lahey have said that the American Bar Association evaluation is the ‘gold standard’ by which judicial candidates are judged. In 2017, a majority of the standing committee of the ABA believed that Barrett was well qualified. Interestingly, Chuck Schumer is now saying that Barrett is wildly out of the mainstream.

John opens the show this week looking beyond the news everyone else is talking about and tackling issues like judicial activism, the need for a full court before the post-election legal chaos, and how the making of laws should fall squarely on the shoulders of Congress, not the executive or judicial branches.

Finally, we welcome Russell Berman (www.hoover.org), Humanities Professor at Stanford and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, who examines one of the latest chess pieces in President Trump’s foreign policy plan – the agreement between Serbia and Kosovo and their future relationship with Israel. The President was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for this accomplishment. Will he actually win or will political correctness infiltrate another award ceremony?
