Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

We start out tonight with a looming showdown over gun rights in Illinois.

The state of Illinois has a new law that went into effect last year and gave residents until January 1, 2024, to comply by either getting rid of their AR-15s and a whole host of other banned guns and magazines or registering them with the state.

Well, that date came and went and only 15,000 people out of 2.4 million gun owners registered their weapons. That’s less than 1 percent who decided they were going to be obedient to the rogue state of Illinois, which decided to run roughshod over the Second Amendment rights of its citizens.

So, is the state going to start rounding up all those people and confiscating their guns?

North Korea continues to attract attention, having conducted live-fire drills near its maritime border with South Korea in what was the third consecutive day of military exercises.

This comes amid mounting tensions over what has been labeled the biggest escalation in years.

Residents on a border island, which was last hit by North Korean shells in 2010, have been warned to stay inside as gunfire has been heard nearby and in case the South Koreans launch any countermeasures.

“North Korean gunfire is currently being heard,” said a text message sent to all residents, adding that troops on the island “are currently responding, but residents are advised to be careful of outdoor activities.”

None of North Korea’s artillery shells have yet fallen south of the Northern Limit Line (NLL), the de-facto maritime border in the Yellow Sea, and no casualties have been reported, the Yonhap news agency reports. 

It comes after North Korea’s communist dictator Kim Jong Un threatened a nuclear attack on the South during year-end meetings, and called for a build-up of his country's military arsenal ahead of armed conflict that he warned could “break out any time.”

The Biden regime has rejected recommendations from dozens of leading human rights, religious freedom, and Christian groups to reverse course and redesignate Nigeria to its list of worst offenders when it comes to allowing citizens to practice the religion of their choice.

The State Department on Thursday released a much-anticipated annual index of designations, maintaining all 12 countries listed on the previous year’s blacklist on religious freedom and adding only one new country – Azerbaijan – to a special watchlist. The move to add Azerbaijan came just months after the country seized an ethnic Armenian enclave with a predominantly Christian population.

The 12 countries officially designated as “countries of particular concern,” the official U.S. term for the worst religious liberty offenders, include Burma, China, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Nicaragua, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

The State Department also designated eight entities of particular concern, non-state actors, all of them Muslim, engaging in severe violations of religious freedom. Those groups include everyone from al-Shabab in Somalia, Boko Haram in Nigeria, the Houthis in Yemen, and several factions of ISIS along with the Taliban. 

Blinken’s decision not to designate Nigeria and India earned an immediate rebuke from the U.S. Commission on Religious Freedom, whose leaders are appointed by Congress and make recommendations to the State Department. The commission, which has repeatedly called for both countries to be placed on the official blacklist, expressed “extreme disappointment” with the decision and called on Congress to hold a hearing on the failure of the State Department to follow its recommendations.

USCIRF Chair Abraham Cooper and Vice Chair Frederick Davie said in a statement:

“USCIRF rejects the State Department’s decision to omit Nigeria and India as CPCs. We met with the State Department on many occasions to sound the alarm about these countries but not all of our recommendations have been followed. We will not be deterred and will continue our role as a congressionally mandated watchdog to ensure the U.S. government prioritizes religious freedom as a key component of U.S. foreign policy.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence appeared on CNN Sunday to discuss the January 6 Capitol protest.

Pence told CNN’s Jake Tapper that the FBI did not contribute to the January 6 Capitol protest and he was “pleased” with the arrest of more than 1,200 Trump supporters.

Pence said, “I’ve heard the many repeated assurances from the FBI that they were not involved, and I take them at their word.”

Pence said he believes carte blanch everything he’s been told by FBI Director Christopher Wray about the FBI’s actions that day in the nation’s Capitol, adding:

“I’ve seen the director of the FBI repeatedly assure the American people that the FBI were not the instigators of the riot that occurred on January 6. And frankly I’m very grateful for the efforts of the FBI to bring nearly a thousand people to justice who ransacked our Capitol and did violence against police officers that day.”

Pence said he’s “pleased” that more than 1,000 – mainly peaceful – Trump supporters are locked up in the DC gulag.

Most January 6 protestors peacefully strolled through the Capitol after being waved in by police but they were arrested and charged by Biden’s corrupt Justice Department anyway.

“I believe everyone that conducted that riot at the Capitol needs to be held to the fullest extent of the law. I’m pleased that many have,” Pence added.

That entire exchange appeared to be rehearsed. Pence was shaking his head in feigned disgust before Tapper even finished asking the leading question. Maybe they didn’t even have to rehearse it because these two already know they are playing for the same team. Pence is disgraceful and embarrassing, going on CNN, the Communist News Network, to trash half the country’s voting public. Is it any wonder Pence had to fold the tent on his 2024 presidential run before we even got to 2024? He is an utter disgrace to his party and his country.

Just the News reports that the family of January 6 protester Ashli Babbitt has filed a $30 million wrongful death lawsuit against the federal government, saying she posed no threat to anyone when she was killed. 

Babbitt was fatally shot trying to enter a secured area inside the U.S. Capitol Building the day the Capitol riot took place three years ago. The 14-year Air Force veteran was unarmed at the time, as she tried to climb through a broken window in a door near the House Chamber.

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in Southern California, alleges that Babbitt was ambushed by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd, who shot her in the face at point blank range.

“Ashli posed no threat to the safety of anyone,” the lawsuit reads.

In August of 2021, the Capitol Hill Police Department conducted an internal investigation and concluded that Byrd had violated no laws and would not be disciplined for the shooting. 

“USCP officers had barricaded the Speaker's Lobby with furniture before a rioter shattered the glass door,” the department said following the investigation, according to CBS News. “If the doors were breached, the rioters would have immediate access to the House chambers. The officer's actions were consistent with the officer's training and USCP policies and procedures.”

The lawsuit also accuses the Capitol Police of assault and negligent use of force.

Politico reports that the German government has partly backed down from a proposal to cut tax privileges for farmers after facing mass protests.

The government said in a statement that it would gradually phase out tax breaks on diesel fuel for farmers over multiple years rather than cut the benefit abruptly as government leaders had initially proposed. They said the gradual phasing out of the tax breaks “give the affected companies more time to adjust.” The government also said it would waive planned tax increases for agricultural vehicles.

The leaders of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's coalition had previously announced the tax hikes on farmers as part of a draft budget deal for 2024 presented last month.

Former President Donald Trump called for Joe Biden to “release the J6 hostages” during his speech in Iowa on the third anniversary of the protest.

All major Republican presidential candidates are in Iowa, holding campaign events just days ahead of the state’s presidential caucuses.

Trump has a message for the Biden regime, stating “Release the J6 hostages, Joe. Release them, Joe.”

Meanwhile, the corporate media lets Joe Biden continue to get away with telling blatant lies about what happened on January 6th.

Jim Hoft at The Gateway Pundit writes that Biden, in his first official campaign speech, said he and his wife Jill attended the funerals of police officers who were killed as a result of the events of January 6.

That’s an outright lie.

Four people died at the Capitol on January 6. Of those four people, none were police. All were Trump supporters. Their names were Rosanne Boyland, Benjamin Phillips, Ashli Babbitt and Kevin Greeson. At least three of these four Trump supporters were killed by police.

Last Friday, Biden stated: “Over 140 police officers were injured. Jill and I attended the funerals of police officers who died as a result of the events of that day. Because of Donald Trump’s lies.”

Again, for the record, Hoft points out that NO police officers were killed that day. Not one.  Officer Brian Sicknick died the next day from a stroke.

Hoft writes:

“There is no evidence that the January 6 protests were linked to the DC police officers who later committed suicide that year. It’s far-fetched at best. But it does play into the hands of the totalitarians in charge.”

Hoft asks, “Did any media outlet correct Joe Biden? Any? Are there ANY mainstream media reporters who are honest anymore?”

I think we know the answer to that question.

Hayward Unified School District in California’s Bay Area is providing LGBTQ  propaganda books and films to its more than 19,000 students, including a movie that glorifies transgender drugs for children.

On Tuesday, the Daily Wire announced it has reviewed documents detailing lesson plans and recommended resources used in California’s Hayward Unified School District, which spans more than 19,000 children from preschool through high school.

The materials include a list of “LGBTQ+ Inclusive Films” that can be streamed online for free, along with recommended audience ages. It includes an entry on “diversity in family structures from a wide range of children’s perspectives” for viewers as young as kindergarten. The film includes the story of a 12-year-old girl whose peers’ reaction to her tomboy habits has her “not sure if she wants to be a girl, a boy, or something in-between when she grows up.” This film is recommended for fifth-graders.

Another film focuses on the “story of the Hayward Gay Prom, an annual event in Hayward since 1995,” which is deemed suitable for grades 7 and up.

While not mentioned in the list, the website for the tomboy film, “I’m Just Anneke,” adds that the protagonist is given a “medication that will suppress the hormones that are causing her body to change before she’s ready,” which is presented as doing nothing more than “giving her more time to decide.”

The Hayward school district also maintains resources for so-called “safe and inclusive” books that “include a range of themes including different family structures like two moms or two dads, gender identity and expression, people from different cultures, physical boundaries (respecting personal space), mixed race identity, etc.”; as well as materials on how to hold a “pride flag ceremony,” promote pro-LGBT paraphernalia such as “protect trans kids” T-shirts and “ally ribbons,” and how to “Create Gender Expansive Classrooms.”

Last year the United States set records for homelessness across the country, as Americans continue to burn both ends of the candle trying to hang on.

As reported by The Hill: “Last month, the U.S. government released its annual point-in-time count of people experiencing homelessness on a single night this past winter. The latest figures confirm the tragedy we all see in communities across the country: 650,000 people sleeping on the streets or in shelters, the highest figure since the count started in 2007.”

The Hill further reported:

“The government also released data showing that last year, almost 900,000 people fell into homelessness for the first time, a 25 percent increase from the previous year and by far the largest increase ever recorded.”

Axios added that Washington, D.C., New York and Vermont had the country’s highest concentrations of people experiencing homelessness in 2023, according to a report from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

DC U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves gave a chilling speech on Friday, January 5th, suggesting the Department of Justice is preparing to prosecute more Americans for protesting outside the Capitol building on Jan 6.

That’s a big wow, folks. If the Biden regime is somehow able to cheat or scam its way into a second term, they could drag this out for many more years, prosecuting thousands more Americans for simply occupying a space that they were supposedly not “authorized” to be present in. 

And that would set a precedent for America going forward, prosecuting Americans for doing nothing more than standing outside of the U.S. Capitol, which has been historically described as the People’s House and the site of countless peaceful protests dating back to the civil rights era and beyond. The government is sending the message now that the Capitol is no longer the People’s House. It is their house. A house of tyrants.

Keep in mind also that this assistant attorney general’s prepared statement, read from a piece of paper, came just a couple of days after Joe Biden used the bully pulpit of the White House to once again demonize all Americans who support Donald Trump, his primary political opponent in the upcoming election. Only dictatorships operate in such a manner, threatening any and all opposition that might exist with criminal prosecution. There’s no constitutional republic in the history of the world in which a legitimately elected government official would criminalize his political opposition. It just doesn’t happen. That’s why I’ve said there is no saving the republic. The republic has already been stolen out from under us and it remains to be seen whether this republic can be taken back and brought back within the bounds of the U.S. Constitution. Because it is definitely operating outside the boundaries set for it right now. 

I think this may be the year in which we find out, once and for all, if it’s even possible for free and fair elections to take place, or if we truly do live in a one-party state.
