Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

The Democrat Party has quietly changed its rules in a way that allows Kamala Harris to receive the party’s presidential nomination prior to the party’s convention being held next month in Chicago.

This decision to hold a so-called virtual nomination represents a strategic move, likely intended to avoid any perception of instability within the party, even though it opens the Party up to criticism of being un-democratic.

A virtual roll call will be held the first week of August to formally coronate Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.

Despite Biden’s endorsement, his delegates were not legally obligated to support Harris. But the party has now taken proactive steps to guarantee Harris’ nomination, ensuring she faces no competition and to demand delegates’ compliance.

The virtual roll call, planned since May, was implemented to allow the Democrat ticket ample time to appear on ballots in states with early filing deadlines. The plan was to have Biden confirmed in advance of the convention. The difference is that Biden actually ran for president and received primary votes. Harris has not received any votes.

This is a strange look for a party that claims to stand for democracy.

The Winepress News reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted earlier this month that sanctions levied against other countries are driving nations to de-dollarize and commit to trade agreements that do not use the greenback.

Yellen made the admission during a House Financial Services Committee hearing on July 9th.

Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO), told Yellen he believes a package of prepared sanctions needs to be ready when China inevitably moves to invade Taiwan. Yellen denied having any real knowledge or discussions about this. 

The GOP congressman then asked Yellen what her biggest concern is when it comes to international financial relationships and issues. The Treasury Secretary admitted in the wide open that U.S. sanctions used to punish other countries are helping to erode the strength of the U.S. dollar.

She said:

“In the realm of sanctions, we have very powerful sanctions that are available because of the important role of the dollar in international transactions. The ability to cut off foreign banks or other businesses or individuals from the ability to transact through the U.S. financial system… The more we have used sanctions, the more countries look for ways to engage in financial transactions that don’t involve the dollar.”

As noted by The Winepress, it was not even a month ago that Yellen defended the use of sanctions and the seizure of more than $300 billion worth of Russian assets frozen in Western bank accounts. And roughly $50 billion has already been taken and reallocated to Ukraine’s war effort against the Russians.

When questioned about the move, Yellen said at the time:

“There is no sense at all in which it’s theft. The Russian assets remain in this institution, they’ve been impounded. The investments that Russia have matured so Russia’s funds are sitting in cash, but they’re generating income for the institution which Russia has no claim on, so there’s no legal issue here.”

The broader implications of this statement extend beyond the government’s self-proclaimed right to seize the assets of another country and use them to fund a proxy war against that same country. 

Lena Petrova, CPA, referred to Yellen’s statement as “Orwellian double-speak,” and warned of the great precedent this sets for Americans and anyone else who places their money in a bank or financial institution.

Petrova explained:

“Our U.S. Treasury Secretary just said that […] the interest that your savings account generates is actually not yours to keep. Instead, your savings account or any other investment that you hold in the financial institution actually works to generate revenue for that institution, not you. So then, using her logic, by default there’s no issue in taking that money from you, it never will be, because it wasn’t yours to begin with.”

American Military News reports that New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that the NYPD will install gun-scanning metal detectors at a select few city subway stations later this week.

Adams brushed off criticism from civil rights advocates who have questioned the efficacy of the controversial technology.

In an afternoon news conference at City Hall, Adams said the detectors, produced by a company called Evolv Technology, will be rolled out “Thursday or Friday” at a handful of subway turnstiles as part of a pilot program.

Adams, a retired NYPD captain who has made using new surveillance technology a cornerstone of his public safety agenda, said:

“I think this is going to become the norm for us.”

Adams didn’t say which stations will see the detectors this week, how long the pilot will run or how much it is expected to cost.

Adams’ spokeswoman Amaris Cockfield said no taxpayer dollars will be spent on the pilot, which is expected to last 30 days. She declined to name locations participating in the pilot, citing safety concerns, or who was paying for them.

The Legal Aid Society and other civil rights advocates have argued the detectors could prove an invasion of privacy and a nuisance to New Yorkers who use the subways for commuting. That criticism came into sharper focus after the Daily News reported earlier this year that Evolv’s CEO told investors on a call that subways are not “a good use-case” for the company’s technology.

Controversy has also mounted since The News reported that two major Adams’ donors hold sizable investments in Evolv.

In Tuesday’s press conference, Adams told reporters he encourages other producers of similar technology to reach out to his administration with proposals. He wouldn’t say whether the administration has been in communication with any other companies besides Evolv about the matter.

In another example of how Democrat-run cities are declaring war on the Second Amendment, the city of Chicago this week moved to dismiss, then refile and effectively expand a lawsuit previously brought against gun manufacturer Glock.

Originally filed last March, the since-updated lawsuit raises many of the same allegations against Glock — centered on the recent surge of “auto sears” or “switches” that can quickly modify a Glock handgun into an automatic weapon, targeting the manufacturer and two suburban Chicago gun shops added as defendants in the case.

The updated lawsuit states:

“Glock continues to sell and promote its guns to Chicago residents through two of the most problematic gun dealers in the Chicago area: Defendant Midwest Sporting Goods, a self-professed ‘Chicagoland’ firearm dealer in Lyons, Illinois, and Defendant Eagle Sports Range, which ‘actively recruits Chicagoland customers’ in Oak Forest, Illinois.”

The top suppliers of crime guns into Chicago are all Glock authorized dealers, the lawsuit claims, including the two gun stores named as defendants.

The two-count suit alleges violations of state consumer protection laws, and the city is seeking an order to stop Glock from selling “its easily modified pistols to Chicago civilian residents through its website and Illinois gun stores that serve the Chicago market.” 

Mayor Brandon Johnson said in a statement:

“We are expanding this lawsuit to ensure that other irresponsible actors who have contributed to the proliferation of easily modified Glocks in our City are held accountable for their role in this deadly new frontier plaguing Chicago’s residents and communities.”

So, basically, the City of Chicago is trying, through a twisted form of lawfare, to make it illegal for any gun store to sell Glock pistols in the state of Illinois.

And where is it getting the attorneys from for this lawfare? From Michael Bloomberg’s radical gun-grabbing Everytown for Gun Safety.

Have you ever wondered why so many once right-leaning teenagers, brought up in conservative households, come back from college completely transformed into woke lapdogs of the radical left?

Well, a report by the College Fix provides us with the answer.

They found that 93 percent of top-ranked university presidents who donated to political campaigns gave to Democrats. This is according to a College Fix analysis of federal and state political campaign donation data.

Among the top 25 presidents listed by U.S. News World & Report, 10 did not appear to have donated, according to records, so it’s impossible to know their political leanings.

But of the 15 presidents that The Fix found data on, 14 gave to Democrats, including 12 who gave exclusively and two who gave primarily to Democrats but also donated smaller amounts to Republicans; only one donated exclusively to Republicans. That amounts to about 93 percent donating to Democratic campaigns, according to the analysis.

Liberal university presidents hire liberal professors. And liberal professors are skilled at brainwashing their students.

A Florida judge has given the green light for Donald Trump’s defamation lawsuit against ABC News anchor George Stephanopolous to move forward.

Judge Cecilia Altonaga of the United States District Court in Miami rejected ABC‘s motion to dismiss the lawsuit that Trump filed against Stephanopolous and the Disney-owned network.

The lawsuit stems from comments Stephanopoulos made in March when he falsely asserted that Trump was found “liable for rape” in a civil case against the Republican White House hopeful.

Stephanopoulos repeatedly promoted the false smears on his show, even after being corrected by Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, whom he was interviewing at the time.

The judge wrote in her opinion:

“A jury may, upon viewing the segment, find there was sufficient context. But a reasonable jury could conclude Plaintiff was defamed and, as a result, dismissal is inappropriate.”

Trump touted the ruling on Truth Social, writing:

“A BIG WIN TODAY IN HIGH FLORIDA COURT AGAINST ABC FAKE NEWS, AND LIDDLE’ GEORGE SLOPADOPOLUS.

“A POWERFUL CASE! BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA WILL BE FORCED BY THE COURTS TO START TELLING THE TRUTH.

“THIS IS A GREAT DAY FOR OUR COUNTRY. MAGA2024!”

Politico is reporting that Barack Obama is now set to endorse Kamala Harris as the Democrats 2024 nominee for president.

This comes after more than a week in which Obama was one of the few Democrat movers and shakers to withhold his endorsement. He had been calling for an open convention next month in Chicago, actually giving delegates the choice of several candidates. But now he’s apparently on board with the Kamala train.

The Right Scoop noted that Obama’s flip flop was entirely predictable, writing:

“But what was so predictable is that he’s reluctantly endorsing her after the New York Post exposed his true feelings about it. He can’t be seen as the one top Democrat who won’t endorse her, so he’s jumping on the endorsement bandwagon.”

The Epoch Times reports on a little-noted element of Joe Biden’s July 24 speech from the Oval Office in which he pledged to call for Supreme Court reform in his final stretch as America’s commander-in-chief.

Biden made the remarks after explaining his decision not to seek reelection and laying out his plans for his final six months in office.

This sounds like an attempt to end our Constitution’s emphasis on separation of powers in a way that a lame-duck Democrat president can impose his own rules on the court.

Biden said that over the next six months, “I’ll be focused on doing my job as president,” highlighting key goals such as boosting the economy, lowering inflation, tightening gun control, and safeguarding the planet from what he described as a “climate crisis.”

“And I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform because this is critical to our democracy, Supreme Court reform.”

Notice he did not mention, as one of his goals, stopping the march toward World War III that his administration is provoking with Russia and other countries.

The body of 26-year-old British reality TV star Harry Savage was found last Friday at his home after reportedly dying suddenly and unexpectedly.

British police have opened an investigation into Savage’s shock sudden death.

Savage appeared on the UK’s Channel 4 series “Hunted.”

In the show, contestants try to avoid getting captured in a mock police manhunt.

The young star’s death was “unexpected,” police confirmed.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene, the Independent reported.

However, the man was later released by authorities.

The police were called to Savage’s home in Putney, a neighborhood of London, on Friday.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Savage unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.

An AI-supporting NGO run by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, along with the CEOs of two of the world’s top providers of biometric digital IDs, are calling on the new British government to ramp up the country’s march toward a forced digital ID for all citizens.

They are also calling for a new global digital ID system powered by artificial intelligence.

According to an article at the website Biometric Update, UK Member of Parliament Peter Kyle, the new Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, is being pressured to speed up the government’s implementation of digital IDs. 

An open letter from Robin Tombs, CEO of the biometrics firm Yoti, calls on the new UK government to pass legislation requiring digital ID and so-called online safety measures, such as using AI-generated face-scans to verify the age of people online.

A letter on similar themes was addressed to Kyle by executives at another biomentrics firm, OIX, who, like Tombs, are suggesting there is an economic benefit that can be gained from a more mature digital ID ecosystem.

Tombs writes:

“This framework would enable UK residents to use digital IDs with the same confidence as paper documents in more situations, which would improve the accessibility of services provided by organizations in the public and private sectors.” 

He says demand for digital ID is growing among UK consumers, with more than 4.5 million people downloading one of Yoti’s apps.

Tombs also noted that the science backing biometric facial age estimation has increased dramatically.

Biometric Update reports that similar points pushing digital ID are made in a recent commentary co-authored by Yiannis Theodorou, a senior advisor for digital ID at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. Also applying pressure in this space are Campbell Cowie and Ryley Charlwood of iProov, which is yet another private contractor profiting from the global transition from paper to biometric digital ID.

The only difference is that Tony Blair and iProov are focused more on international lobbying for the digital transition.

Biometric Update writes:

“Their main point, however, is that AI and digital ID can be mutually beneficial.”

This is all setting us up for a world in which AI controls everything. All human transactions, all human movements, all human expression, everything will be done under the watchful eye of Big Brother. This has always been the dream of globalist power elites. Total control over humanity. The only thing new is that Big Brother is looking more and more like it will be powered by AI technology, not a single human dictator as so many of the dystopian writers have always imagined.
