Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

We have breaking news tonight out of Nebraska.

On Sunday morning, a Catholic priest was stabbed to death in the rectory of his church not far from Omaha, where he lived.

The Rev. Stephen Gutgsell, 65, was rushed to a nearby hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries.

Kierre Williams, a 43-year-old man from nearby Sioux City, Iowa, was arrested in the rectory and charged with homicide and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

According to KETV, the incident took place at St. John the Baptist church, which is located just off Highway 75 in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, about 16 miles north of the state capital, Omaha.

Shortly after 5 a.m., deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to calls about an attempted break-in at the parish. Upon arrival, they discovered Williams and Gutgsell, the latter suffering from multiple severe stab wounds. The priest was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha to be treated, but died a short time later.

Back at the church, Williams was apprehended and taken to the Washington County Jail, where he remains in custody. No other details have yet been released.

In a prepared statement, the Archdiocese of Omaha said its leaders and parishioners were “praying for Father Stephen Gutgsell, who was assaulted during an invasion at the rectory of St. John the Baptist parish in Fort Calhoun early Sunday morning.”

The Daily Mail reports that Chinese hackers are positioning themselves inside critical U.S. infrastructure by targeting careless office workers in a bid to cause societal chaos from within should war break out.

Beijing's military have burrowed into more than 20 major suppliers in the last year alone including a water utility in Hawaii, a major West Coast port and at least one oil and gas pipeline, analysts have revealed.

They have bypassed elaborate cyber security systems by intercepting passwords and log-ins unguarded by junior employees, leaving China sitting on a stockpile of strategic vulnerabilities.

Codenamed Volt Typhoon, the project has coincided with growing tension over Taiwan and could unplug U.S. efforts to protect its interests in the South China Sea.

“It is very clear that Chinese attempts to compromise critical infrastructure are in part to pre-position themselves to be able to disrupt or destroy that critical infrastructure in the event of a conflict,” said Brandon Wales of the DHS's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

“Either to prevent the United States from being able to project power into Asia or to cause societal chaos inside the United States — to affect our decision-making around a crisis. That is a significant change from Chinese cyber activity from seven to 10 years ago that was focused primarily on political and economic espionage.”

The hackers often cover their trace by using unsuspicious devices such as home or office routers in a bid to steal employee credentials, officials told the Washington Post.

Once inside the systems, they can pose as legitimate users in a technique known as “living off the land.”

“You're trying to build tunnels into your enemies’ infrastructure that you can later use to attack,” said China expert Joe McReynolds at the Jamestown Foundation.

“Until then you lie in wait, carry out reconnaissance, figure out if you can move into industrial control systems or more critical companies or targets upstream. And one day, if you get the order from on high, you switch from reconnaissance to attack.”

KDKA-TV Channel 2 in Pittsburgh, a CBS affiliate, reports that last month, the Municipal Water Authority of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, suffered a cyberattack that the FBI claims originated in Iran.

On Monday, December 11, in Pittsburgh, representatives from the Biden regime and local leaders met under the auspices of trying to keep future cyberattacks from happening.

There's a reason the meeting was held in Pittsburgh, according to Audrey Russo, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Technology Council. Pittsburgh was identified as a tech hub and according to Russo, the meeting focused on the potential for developing human cybersecurity assets.

Russo told KDKA:

“Talent, really focusing on talent. There's probably about 3,000 job opportunities in our region that have something in the title that's related to cyber. Three thousand of some 700,000 like jobs that need to be filled to form a force of civilian and governmental cyber defenders. And you don't necessarily need a tech degree.”

Russo said English majors, people who come up through information technology, and people who have journalism degrees, are sought to fill these positions.

The government has a cyber security boot camp that puts those individuals into a company's cyber ecosystem.

Another focus is on getting the education system set up to produce these future cyber ninjas, and an early start is the key.

Russo said:

“We need to be focusing on middle school kids and getting them focused where these opportunities are and get them excited about that.”

Have you ever wondered how a people can be so consumed by hate that they would commit atrocities of the sort we saw on October 7 in Israel?

Well, all you have to do is take a look inside the schools run by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

MEMRI, the Middle Eastern Media Research Institute, has put together some footage of how these schools operate to train and indoctrinate children as young as kindergarten. But they’re not only having their minds cultivated by a demonic hatred of Jews, they’re also trained in military tactics.

The Scottish Prison Service has issued guidance saying that biological males who identify as women, including some with a history of violence against women, should be placed in female-only jails in order to allow them to spend time around people of their “affirmed gender.”

Transgender criminals should be “provided the opportunity and supported to work towards” serving their prison sentence in a jail that “aligns with their affirmed gender,” the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) said according to the Scottish Daily Express.

The guidance from the SPS argued that in doing so it would allow trans offenders to “have had the opportunity to live with those who share their affirmed gender” before they are released back into the public.

The prison service said that even biological males with a history of violence, including sexual offences against women, should be given the opportunity to be placed in a female prison if there was compelling evidence that they no longer presented “an unacceptable risk of harm.”

Even for those who are deemed to be too dangerous to be housed alongside female inmates, the SPS suggested they be given the chance to be around female inmates, saying that “there may be other ways of supporting their gender identity, for example through access to work parties, activities, or even programs with others of their gender identity.”

The new guidance represents a major reversal from the SPS’s decision to determine which prison criminals are sent to based on their biological sex in the wake of the scandal of a biologically male rapist, Isla Bryson, being sent to a woman’s prison after being convicted of raping two women while still identifying as a man in 2016 and 2019. Bryson, born Adam Graham, only claimed to be transgender after the trial began.

Arizona’s Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs has accused the Biden regime of failing to secure the southern border, and is seeking half a billion dollars in federal reimbursement for what her state is spending on the crisis.

In a letter dated last Friday, which Hobbs released publicly, the governor requested more than $512 million in federal funds to reimburse state spending on migrant transport, drug interdiction, and law enforcement “due to the federal government's failure to secure our border.”

It comes after Customs and Border Protection encounters with migrants at the southern border reportedly hit a one-day high of 12,000 on Tuesday, including more than 10,200 who were detained illegally entering the U.S. from Mexico between ports of entry.

On Monday, CBP closed the Lukeville border crossing in Arizona indefinitely, in order to surge agents from the crossing to help arrest and process a flood of migrants walking across the border to claim asylum.

The desolate area around the remote crossing has become a global migration route in recent months, with smugglers dropping off people from countries as far flung as Senegal, India and China, among dozens of other countries.

Most of them are walking into the U.S. west of Lukeville through gaps in the wall, then turn east toward the official border crossing to surrender to the first agents they see to claim asylum, according to the AP.

Hobbs in her letter slammed the closing of the Lukeville crossing, saying it “has led to an unmitigated humanitarian crisis in the area and has put Arizona's safety and commerce at risk.”

She added, “Our ports of entry are essential to our state and our country's economy, and it is vital that they be properly staffed and resourced to continue to fuel economic growth in the state.”

Hobbs called for National Guard members who are on active federal duty to be mobilized to assist CBP in manning the crossing so it can be reopened.

Breitbart reports that U.N. climate negotiators confirmed Monday they are pushing for a deal at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai that will be the beginning of the end for fossil fuels.

Flying back to Dubai to add his voice to the negotiations, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for “maximum ambition and maximum flexibility” to reach an agreement that can find consensus among the nearly 200 countries.

“We are in a race against time,” Guterres told reporters, AFP reports.

“It’s time to go into overdrive to negotiate in good faith,” he continued after alighting from his jet before going on to join some 80,000 other attendees who have flown in from all around the world for COP28.

The conference of the elites in the lavish Dubai metropolis built by oil money is considering the first-ever call to exit oil, gas and coal, considered by some as the main culprits in the planet’s “climate crisis.”

Neighboring Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, has led opposition, with the OPEC cartel urging its members to vote against a phase-out of fossil fuels.

Without naming countries, Simon Stiell, the head of the U.N. climate body, called on all sides to remove “unnecessary tactical blockades” holding up a deal.

Guterres called on negotiators to have a “single-minded focus on tackling the root cause of the climate crisis — fossil fuel production and consumption.”

He called on the summit to recognize “the need to phase out all fossil fuels” – a stance opposed by oil producing countries.

Al Gore says that people having access to information outside of mainstream media sources is a threat to “democracy” and that social media algorithms “ought to be banned.”

Yes, really.

Gore made the comments during an appearance at the COP28 climate change hysteria conference in Dubai.

In 2015 and 2017, the Israeli historian and philosopher Yuval Noah Harari discussed how a massive class of useless people was being created. The artificial intelligence revolution is beginning to create “the useless class,” he said.

When asked if his 2015 book provided any solutions, he responded: “At present, the best guess we have is to keep them [the useless class] happy with drugs and computer games.”

Remember, this is no ordinary professor. He is Klaus Schwab’s right-hand man. One of the chief advisers to the World Economic Forum, which holds a summit for globalist elites every year in Davos, Switzerland.

Here he is giving his horrifying recommendations.

Just the News reports that a new poll conducted by The Economist and YouGov found one in five young Americans believe the Holocaust is a myth while nearly 30% believe Jews wield too much power in America.

According to the poll last week, 20% of Americans ages 18 to 29 agreed with the statement, “The Holocaust is a myth,” while a greater percentage agreed with the statement that the Holocaust “has been exaggerated.”

Thirty percent of respondents said they “did not know whether the Holocaust is a myth,” while 28% adopted the statement that Jews “wield too much power in America.”

The poll noted that Holocaust denial spanned all levels of education while noting that social media might play a role in fostering antisemitism. The findings from the poll noted a recent Generation Lab survey, which found young adults who used TikTok were more likely to hold antisemitic beliefs.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean and director of Global Social Action for the Simon Wiesenthal Center, said, “It is a perfect storm out there.”

Cooper explained to The Foreign Desk the various factors at play regarding the spread of antisemitism among young Americans, stating:

“A state’s policy that promotes Holocaust denial and denigration of the 6 million Jewish victims (Iranian regime); A generation brought up on social media—including and especially Tik Tok which leads to (Holocaust) denial and misappropriation, including by politicians—seems everyone is compared to Hitler. A generation with information glut but little perspective; no online librarian, no filters, little collective memory back to the 20th Century.”

The Economist/YouGov poll found that Holocaust denial decreased among Americans older than 29. Around 10% of Americans ages 30 to 44 say that the Holocaust is a myth or exaggerated.

The poll found antisemitism prevalent in other demographic groups. Twenty-seven percent of black respondents and 19% of Hispanics agreed with the statement that “Jews have too much power in America,” while 13% of white respondents expressed such sentiments.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.

A few hours after being sworn in as president of Argentina, Javier Milei signed his first Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) focused on reducing the country's government structure, according to a report by Voz Media.

This Sunday, Milei fulfilled one of his campaign promises by signing a new cabinet configuration that reduces the number of government agencies from 21 to 9, lowers public spending, and improves government efficiency.

The new decree says:

“It is necessary to adapt the provisions of the Law of Ministries and the objectives set, with the purpose of rationalizing and making the actions of the National State more efficient.”

The ministry portfolio is now comprised of Interior, Foreign Relations, Defense, Economy, Justice, Security and Health. These are added to the recently created Ministry of Human Capital and Infrastructure.

One of the most notable developments is the establishment of Human Capital, a ministry that will absorb responsibilities in areas such as education, culture, work and social development, thus consolidating a comprehensive approach to social and human policies.

Likewise, the Ministry of Infrastructure was created to consolidate the areas of Public Works, Transportation, Energy, Mining and Telecommunications.

The decree also establishes that the Ministry of Economy will now manage productive development, foreign trade and tourism policies.

The powers of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, as well as that of Sports, will now be under the Ministry of the Interior. The Chief of Staff will absorb the now-defunct Ministry of Science and Technology.

These actions immediately triggered the liberal media. PBS News published an article claiming that Milei's ideas are outlandish and radical.

But a look beyond the surface shows that Milei is not necessarily removing the government from the realms of education, energy, transportation, civil rights and sustainable development. He’s just folding those agencies into other agencies.

His decree ensures that budget credits, organizational units, assets and personnel will be transferred to the new structures. This suggests there will not be a significant reduction in government personnel or budget items, at least in the short term.

In other words, this new president of Argentina is overhyping his conservative accomplishments and giving the perception that he’s drastically cutting the size and scope of government. In reality he’s just restructuring, reorganizing and maybe finetuning a little bit. This is the same problem we have endured with politicians here in America. They speak boldly but deliver little. Hopefully we will see more substance and less hype, both in Argentina and in the U.S.

That does it for this edition of the Worldview Report. Thanks for watching and for supporting this viewer-supported broadcast.
