Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

Information continues to slowly drip out on the fires that destroyed Lahaina on the island of Maui and with every new leak the story just gets worse.

The Daily Mail reported Thursday that Maui's top emergency officials were on another island when the wildfires began and did not join a call about the response until five hours after the blazes broke out. 

Dozens of senior bureaucrats were gathering on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, on August 8 for the annual meeting of FEMA coordinators in the Pacific region. 

The first fire on Maui, the Upcounty Fire, broke out in the early hours of August 8. 

Around 6:40 a.m. on that day, a school near Lahaina was evacuated, but an emergency response call was not held until nearly five hours later, at 11 am.

The fire was declared “contained” by 9 a.m., CNN reported.

Yet by 3:30 p.m. the fire had spread so significantly around Lahaina that an evacuation order was given for the town, and Lt. Governor Sylvia Luke activated Hawaii's national guard.

So when residents needed them most, Maui’s top emergency management staff was AWOL. Missing in action.

The fire killed at least 115 people and more than 1,000 remain missing.

Those who disobeyed the barricaded road closures during the Maui fires survived the disaster, while many of those who heeded orders to turn around perished in their cars and homes with no way out, The Associated Press reported.

Officials are facing increased scrutiny for the emergency response, including why the emergency sirens were not set off and whether closing the roads prevented people from getting to safety.

In the early hours of the Maui fires, there were more than 30 power poles downed alongside a highway at the south end of Lahaina. Officials closed Lahaina Bypass Road due to the fires, blocking the only way out of Lahaina to the southern part of the island.  

Maui Police Chief John Pelletier said during a news conference that officers never stopped people from leaving the area, but the AP report suggests that residents were discouraged from disobeying the barricade. 

One family swerved around the barricade set up to escape the flames, while another resident took a dirt road uphill to climb above the fire, according to the AP. However, many others who stayed in their cars on that road were stuck in a gridlock, with fires surrounding them on most sides with the ocean on the remaining side.

Nate Baird and Courtney Stapleton recounted their experience, telling AP they loaded the car up with their two sons, Baird’s mother and one dog to escape the flames. When they turned south to escape Lahaina, they were met with cones and were told to turn around to Lahaina, which was already burning.

Instead of turning around, they ignored the order, swerved past the cones and escaped to a neighboring town.

Baird said:

“Nobody realized how little time we really had. Even with us being from the heart of the fire, we did not comprehend. Like we literally had minutes and one wrong turn. We would all be dead right now.”

Baird told the reporter that if they had 10 more minutes, they could have saved children who were left home alone in their neighborhood during the fires.

“The kids just don’t have a filter. So their son ran up and was just telling our son, you know, ‘This kid is dead. This kid is dead.’ And it’s like, all my son’s friends that they come to our house every day,” he said. “And their parents were at work, and they were home alone. And nobody had a warning. Nobody, nobody, nobody knew.”

Breitbart reports that the first Republican presidential primary debate hosted by Fox News on Wednesday featured no questions on election integrity, despite polls showing the issue is important to conservatives.

“Not one question about election integrity tonight,” former Arizona governor candidate Kari Lake posted on X. “If we can’t talk about our broken elections, how are we ever going to be able to fix them?”

A recent poll conducted by the Honest Elections Project (HEP) from July 13-16 showed that the vast majority of U.S. voters support election integrity initiatives such as voter ID requirements and limiting mail-in voting, according to a report last month by the Federalist.

The poll found some 88 percent back voter-ID rules — including black (82 percent) and Hispanic voters (83 percent), according to the report. It also found three-fourths of voters think in-person voting is better than mailed-in ballots, and “overwhelming opposition” to noncitizens and minors voting in U.S. elections.

Yet despite this, debate moderators Bret Baier and Martha McCallum asked no questions on election integrity.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social before the debate:

Conservatives slammed the debate for being out of touch with the Republican Party’s base.

Former U.S. Senate candidate for Pennsylvania Sean Parnell posted on X, “For the most part, this debate was not in any way representative of where the base of the Republican Party is. Most of these candidates miss the moment. It’s not difficult to see why Trump is by far & away the frontrunner.”

Joe Biden’s U.S. Department of Justice sued SpaceX on Thursday, alleging Elon Musk’s space company discriminated against refugees and illegal immigrants in its hiring practices.

According to an article by CNBC, the lawsuit alleges that between 2018 and 2022, SpaceX “wrongly claimed” that export control laws limited its hiring to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents.

The DOJ has been investigating SpaceX since June 2020, when the department’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section received a complaint of employment discrimination from a non-U.S. citizen.

Kristen Clarke, assistant attorney general of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, said in a statement:

“Our investigation found that SpaceX failed to fairly consider or hire asylees and refugees because of their citizenship status and imposed what amounted to a ban on their hire regardless of their qualification, in violation of federal law.”

Clarke added that the DOJ’s investigation found “SpaceX recruiters and high-level officials took actions that actively discouraged asylees and refugees from seeking work opportunities at the company.”

According to data SpaceX provided, the DOJ said that over a nearly four-year period and across more than 10,000 hires, the company “hired only one individual who was an asylee and identified as such in his application.”

For the record, an “asylee” is often in the country illegally while applying for protected status. Refugees come to the U.S. under a legal framework known as the Refugee Act of 1980 and, while the program has been abused, these people are not illegal immigrants.

The suit was filed in the Executive Office for Immigration Review, a division of the DOJ that adjudicates cases on behalf of immigrants.

The DOJ lawsuit seeks to win “fair consideration and back pay for asylees and refugees who were deterred or denied employment at SpaceX due to the alleged discrimination,” as well as civil penalties and policy changes from the company.

The Ontario College of Psychologists has ordered professor Dr. Jordan Peterson to undergo a “re-education training program” because of his social media posts.

The statements Peterson made on social media​ did not relate to the practice of psychology but rather his opinions on gender ideology, the medical mistreatment of minors with regards to trans surgery, climate hysteria and criticizing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The complaints were made by members of the public, not by any individuals who Dr​.​ Peterson has ever treated.

Before the verdict, Peterson said, “The decision of an Ontario court re the allegations levied against me by @CPOntario is due tomorrow. I stand by what I have said and done and wish them luck in their continued prosecution. They’re going to need it. I tweeted and otherwise expressed my opposition to trans surgery butchery, @JustinTrudeau and his minions, and the lying climate apocalypse-mongers. All that’s looking pretty good from my end. And if I can’t express such opinions in Canada, I will let the world know.”

As the Ukrainian Army is running out of manpower and nearing collapse, heavily invested Western allies are resolute in still bankrolling the country’s war with Russia, so much so that Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz refers to his critics who challenge the West’s and NATO’s effort to supply Ukraine more weapons as “fallen angels from hell.”

Recently Scholz spoke to a crowd in Munich and was heckled by some in the audience, calling him a “loser” and a “warmonger.” 

The Trends Journal reports that “He brushed off the hecklers and said the people claiming to be peaceful doves are, in fact, ‘fallen angels, that come from hell, because at the end of the day, they make the case for a warmonger.”’

The TJ podcast added additional insights, noting that politicians like Scholz are desperate to maintain their power as the people continue to grow more and more restless, stating:

“It is notable that Scholz was at a campaign event when he made the comments to the peace protesters. He is in a political fight for survival. Establishment politicians in Germany are pressing panic buttons amid the surge in popularity for the country’s top ‘far-right’ political party, which seems poised to make gains in local and national elections based on financial hardship and disgust for the ruling elite.”

One X user posted that Scholz is likely all in on the war for two main reasons. 1) The “far-right” is growing in popularity with its no-war message, and 2) Scholz thinks that winning a Nobel Peace Prize could benefit his campaign. 

So the way to win a Nobel Peace Prize today is to fund wars. We have clearly entered the dystopian world of Orwell’s 1984, where “war is peace.” The only difference? This isn’t fiction.

Frontline News reports that the House Judiciary Committee on August 24th subpoenaed Citibank over allegedly providing the FBI with private customer data in the wake of January 6th. 

Documents obtained by the committee show that a Citibank representative was included in an email from the FBI on January 29, 2021, requesting “information sharing, both strategic and operational, related to the Capitol Riots.” 

Citibank employees also attended a Zoom call with the FBI following that email.

Also included in the email was JPMorgan Chase, US Bank, Wells Fargo, HSBC, PayPal, Barclays and Bank of America.

Bank of America was revealed to have shared private customer data with the FBI following January 6th without being prompted by the bureau. The bank provided the FBI with data on its customers who made transactions in Washington, DC during those 24 hours. Customers who had previously purchased firearms were moved to the top of the list provided by Bank of America.

“These documents suggest that the executive branch was brainstorming informal methods— outside of legal process—for obtaining private customer information from financial institutions,” wrote House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) in a letter to Citibank executives. “Federal law enforcement’s use of back-channel discussions with financial institutions as a method to investigate and obtain private financial data of Americans is alarming,”

The Hill reports that House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) fired off a sweeping request for documents dealing with President Trump’s prosecution in Georgia, asking Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to turn over all records relating to the case.

Jordan’s letter cites “concerns about [Willis’s] motivation” in bringing the case and suggests her sprawling racketeering indictment against the former president and 18 others highlights “the threat that such state prosecutions can pose to the operations of the federal government.”

The letter also asked whether Willis at any point communicated with the team of special counsel Jack Smith, who earlier this month brought federal charges against Trump related to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

The letter mirrors those the committee has sent related to other criminal cases against Trump and echoes the former president’s frequent complaints that all of the charges leveled against him are motivated by politics rather than any wrongdoing.

Jordan writes, “The timing of this prosecution reinforces concerns about your motivation. You did not bring charges until two-and-a-half years later, at a time when the campaign for the Republican presidential nomination is in full swing. Moreover, you have requested that the trial in this matter begin on March 4, 2024, the day before Super Tuesday and eight days before the Georgia presidential primary.”

Thursday’s letter lays out a case for Trump, arguing the actions he took in Georgia — asking the secretary of state to “find” enough votes for him to win and assembling a slate of fake electors — could be considered official actions taken by a president.

He also posits that such prosecutions could have a chilling effect on presidents while in office, writing:

“To the extent that presidents fear that they may be subject to politically motivated prosecutions after they leave office, this could impact the policies they choose to pursue while in office.”

While America is arresting a former president and his attorneys for questioning the results of an election, Germany has prosecuted a judge who had the audacity to strike down a series of Covid mandates and restrictions.

A German judge Wednesday was slapped with a suspended sentence of two years imprisonment for ruling against mandates for children in 2021.

Weimar family court Judge Christian Dettmar overturned forced mask-wearing, physical distancing and mandatory COVID-19 testing in two Weimar schools in 2021 in defiance of Thuringian Education Ministry mandates. Judge Dettmar believed child mask-wearing should be a decision made by parents, whereas school mandates impinge on freedom of expression and personal health choice, according to Global Village Space.

While there is no scientific evidence for masks, physical distancing, or lockdowns, the public prosecutor at the District Court shortly thereafter initiated criminal proceedings against Judge Dettmar for “perversion of justice.” 

UK Human Rights Blog reports that authorities raided Judge Dettmar’s office, home and car in April and June 2021, confiscating his phone and laptop. They also raided the three experts Judge Dettmar relied on to issue his ruling as well as Judge Matthias Guericke, who also ruled against mandates.

On Friday, the prosecutor at the Thuringian Higher Regional Court accused Judge Dettmar of “abusing the children as puppets” to achieve his ultimate goal of defying mask mandates and demanded a three-year prison sentence.

German authorities have shown little tolerance for opposition to COVID restrictions. In December, a Stuttgart court ordered an 85-year-old Holocaust survivor to be forcibly injected with the COVID-19 shots and committed to a mental health facility. 

Though Germany’s vaccine mandate had been rescinded, the court order directed German authorities to enter the elderly woman’s apartment and commit her to a psychiatric ward on January 11, 2023, where she was to be injected twice with the COVID vaccine “for her own good” and held until December 2024 at the latest. According to a translation of court documents by France’s News 24, the court has justified its decision by diagnosing the woman with narcissism, egomania, logorrhea, dementia, and an obsession with music.

Senator Moore called for a special session of the Georgia Senate to defund criminal Atlanta DA Fani Willis for bastardizing U.S. Law and charging Americans for SPEECH CRIMES – Something unique in U.S. history but used frequently by brutal dictatorships to control their populace.

Senator Moore placed the indictments in perspective, saying, “these individuals, what were they doing? They were questioning the integrity of the election. Some of them have been indicted off evidence of nothing more than a tweet, right? Or a Facebook post. So what does that do to anyone else who wants to speak out? They become afraid. They become fearful for themselves because they’re worried they too could be indicted.”

That’s the whole issue right there, folks. They are sending a message to the nation that freedom of speech in this country is over and that a new one-party state is in control. In control of everything said and done in this nation.
