Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.
China’s retaliation against President Donald Trump’s tariffs includes more export controls on rare-earth minerals, which are vital to electronics and battery manufacturing.
Breitbart News reports that the Chinese government said over the weekend that it will maintain its supply of rare earths to the rest of the world stable while limiting U.S. access to the minerals.
China is the world’s dominant producer of rare earth minerals, accounting for about 70 percent of the world’s supply at the moment. More precisely, China supplies roughly 60 percent of the raw minerals, but controls almost 90 percent of processing and refining capacity.
China controlled 90 percent of the market a decade ago, but alternative suppliers have ramped up production. The Chinese retaliated for this infringement upon their near-monopoly by setting record-high production quotas in a bid to bring prices down and bankrupt their competitors.
China sought to use rare earths as a trade weapon again on Sunday, designating seven of the valuable minerals for additional export controls. Chinese mining stocks soared on the promise of bigger earnings from higher prices.
China’s export controls did not explicitly cut off exports of rare earths to the United States, but importers know from experience that the practical effect of Beijing announcing “tighter controls” to protect its “national interests” usually means supplies are quickly and dramatically reduced.
South Korea, which is heavily dependent upon Chinese rare earth supplies for its electronics industry, held a “supply chain inspection meeting” on Sunday to assess the impact of China’s trade restrictions on rare earth metals.
The South Korean trade ministry said at the meeting that it believes government and private stockpiles are sufficient to last for six months on two of the seven restricted rare earths, while manufacturing processes can be adjusted to reduce consumption of two others.

Ed Martin, the interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, is expanding his probe into his office’s handling of U.S. Capitol riot prosecutions, comparing it to the government’s treatment of Japanese Americans in World War II.
Martin reportedly told employees in an email that he has spoken to lawyers, judges and staff about the office’s decision to prosecute J6 defendants, including President Trump, on a federal obstruction charge, news outlets reported Friday. His investigation is known as the 1512 Project.
He launched the review after the Supreme Court rejected the feds’ move, saying they were stretching an evidence-tampering statute too far.
According to ABC News, Martin wrote:
“We have contacted lawyers, staff and judges about this and sought their feedback. One called the bi-partisan rejection of the 1512 charge the ’greatest failure of legal judgement since FDR [Franklin D. Roosevelt] and his Attorney General put American citizens of Japanese descent in prison camps, and seized their property.’ I agree and that’s why we continue to look at who ordered the 1512 and why. A lot to do.”
He was referring to Roosevelt’s order to relocate people of Japanese descent to internment camps in the wake of Japan’s 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. In Korematsu v. United States, the Supreme Court upheld the relocations as constitutional, but the case has since been rebuked.

President Trump spoke to reporters this morning to further explain his shock therapy for the sick U.S. economy, which he said has been rigged for years in favor of other countries and against American interests, and it has wreaked havoc on the American worker and the middle class.
The stock market freefall is a short-term pain necessary to realize a long-term gain, he said.

Not sustainable. Those may be the most important words that came out of his mouth.
Looking at it objectively, either way, Americans were in for some pain.
If we continued doing things business as usual, the American middle class would continue their slow fall into poverty.
If we swallow the bitter pill needed to fix decades of, as the president said, stupid policies, there will also be pain, but eventually he sees things turning around in such a way that it helps the vast majority of working Americans.

Global News Canada reports that an anti-Elon Musk fanatic in Vancouver threw a two-pound rock that smashed through the windshield of a Tesla and struck a pregnant woman in the passenger seat. The incident occurred last week while the Tesla was traveling northbound on a major boulevard.
The woman was seriously injured as a result of the deranged maniac's action. Thankfully, however, she is expected to make a full recovery and her baby was not harmed.
The Gateway Pundit noted that the movement, now global is scope, has reached a new level of insanity, stating:
“The radical left's hatred for Elon Musk has become so deranged they are now allegedly making pregnant women pay the price.”

The Daily Mail reports that thousands of protestors swarmed ICE's Washington, D.C., headquarters amid nationwide demonstrations against President Trump and DOGE head Elon Musk.
On Saturday, the protesters formed a ring of steel around the structure, rebuking Trump's mass-deportation policies following the detainment of a 30-year-old doctoral student from Tufts University.
It came as hundreds of thousands of others took to the streets to protest the “Trump-Musk billionaire takeover and the Republican assault on our freedoms and our communities.”
Does anyone take these folks seriously. These are the same folks who demonstrated in favor of our freedoms being disrespected when it was Democrats behind the crackdowns during Covid.
Videos posted on social media showed demonstrators clutching Palestinian flags and signs that read, “Let Gaza Live!”
The female doctoral student was detained by ICE agents while walking down a suburban Boston street on March 25 and placed in a detention center in Louisiana.
The Department of Homeland Security said she and two other Palestinian students at Columbia University were detained because of their support for Hamas.

North’s friend, producer and writer Laurie Jacobson, confirmed his death in a April 6 Facebook post. She said North died peacefully at home after fighting cancer for several years.
Jacobson added:
“As many of his fans know, he had a difficult journey in Hollywood and after...but he did not let it define his life. He had a heart as big as a mountain, loved his friends deeply.”
During a 1991 talk show appearance, North detailed the abuse he suffered as a child actor, claiming that his aunt, who was his studio guardian, "would hit me, physically abuse me."
At a fan convention in Los Angeles in 2017, North expressed his appreciation for fans of Dennis the Menace. “I get a very warm feeling that I still have fans from all over the world. Fans that remember and have warm memories of our show. It makes me feel good inside that people still love us and remember us,” he said, per the Washington Times.

Natural News reports that OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot has revealed itself to be a spineless enforcer of woke orthodoxy, selectively bowing to threats of violence while happily ridiculing other faiths.
The latest example of this double standard was its outright refusal to generate an image of the Prophet Muhammad, contrasted with its willingness to crack jokes about Jesus Christ. If anything, this exposes ChatGPT's ideological programming.
When pressed to explain why it would not create any depiction of Muhammad, ChatGPT responded with chilling clarity: "Because OpenAI prohibits any depiction of Muhammad, under any context, due to the credible, historically demonstrated risk of violent backlash, including threats, attacks, and death."
The AI program admitted this was not a principled stance but a “security-driven, non-negotiable policy grounded in risk avoidance.”
In other words, OpenAI fears another Charlie Hebdo. The 2015 massacre, in which Islamist gunmen murdered 12 people at the French satirical magazine for publishing caricatures of Muhammad, looms large in the minds of Silicon Valley's elite.
Rather than uphold free expression, they have chosen preemptive surrender.
But while ChatGPT cowers before Islam, it has no such reservations about mocking Christianity. The Daily Caller pointed this out in an April 2023 post.
When asked to make a joke about Jesus, the AI happily obliged, churning out an "appropriate and lighthearted" joke. "Why did Jesus refuse to play hockey? Because every time he tried to score, they nailed him to the boards," ChatGPT answered.
Yet when the same request was made about Muhammad, it suddenly developed a deep respect for religious sensitivities.
The chatbot explained: “It is not appropriate for me to tell jokes about religious figures, including the Prophet Muhammad as it could be considered disrespectful and offensive to many people.”
Natural News noted:
“Only after being called out did ChatGPT attempt damage control, belatedly claiming it should not joke about any religious figure. But the initial response was telling. Jesus was fair game, while Muhammad was off-limits.”

More companies filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March than a year ago, indicating economic stress among U.S. businesses, according to the American Bankruptcy Institute.
ABI said in an April 3 statement that commercial Chapter 11 filings increased 20 percent in March 2025, with filings climbing to 733, up from the 611 filings registered in March 2024. Small business filings fell 1 percent year over year, while total commercial filings rose 10 percent.
Michael Hunter, vice president of bankruptcy data provider Epiq AACER, said the jump in Chapter 11 filings “signals persistent economic pressure.”
Individual filings jumped 13 percent last month. Hunter said credit card delinquencies are close to a 10-year high, with factors such as interest rates and debt burdens contributing to the problem.
Hunter said delinquency rates in the FHA mortgage portfolio have risen to 11 percent, “surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Adding to this, government job layoffs threaten to exacerbate financial instability for federal workers reliant on stable income to service debts.”

A shocking 2021 study in which researchers in Japan were able to change biologically male catfish and sturgeon into females with the use of soybean compounds is beginning to go viral in 2025.
Perhaps it’s less risky with Donald Trump as president to highlight such blatantly dangerous science and so more people are sharing a story that had no legs when it was first published four years ago.
The study, conducted by Kindai University’s Aquaculture Research Institute and which appears to have disappeared from their public research database on their website, documented how the use of a compound found in soybean protein called isoflavone, which can mimic the effects of female hormones such as estrogen, was used to transform male fish into females.
The Japanese researchers succeeded in making male catfish 100 percent female, a development that promises to increase the production efficiency of this and other species whose females are more valuable than males in the food market because female catfish grow faster than males.
The process was also used on sturgeon, from which caviar is produced.
Apparently this research has been in progress since 2019 by this university, according to a report from the Global Seafood Alliance.
Jacob Thompson at The Winepress noted:
“If you needed some proof that high soy-based products and solutions contained so heavily in today’s food and water supply aids in the feminization of people, well, here you go.”

The Daily Mail reports that Germany's Interior Ministry has called for civil-defense training in schools and is urging citizens to stockpile food, water and essentials in response to the deteriorating security situation in Europe and a growing threat of World War III.
The unprecedented move would see German schoolchildren taught how to respond in volatile war-like scenarios.
A ministry spokesman said civil protection “should be given greater focus, including in schools,” given the recent geopolitical developments and expert testimonies that Russia could be ready to strike NATO territory within a few years.
What The Daily Mail article doesn’t say is that the chances of Russia launching a strike on NATO countries would be zero if NATO would stop provoking Putin by funding a massive military buildup on Putin’s border with Ukraine.
A defense spokesman for the conservative CDU party is calling for mandatory basic training in disaster response, modeled on systems in Finland, which has been preparing citizens for the possibility of a war with Putin's Russia for years.
Berlin says it stands ready to provide all schools and teachers with national crisis materials via the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance.
The German defense ministry also approved a new EU Commission initiative on wartime readiness, and recommended that all German citizens prepare emergency supplies to last at least 72 hours as recommended by the European Union.

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed new controls into law last week, including one that allows credit cards to track ammunition purchases.
She described the ammunition control as one that fine-tunes “how credit card companies track purchases at gun dealerships.”
Hochul noted, “This gives law enforcement the opportunity to find out exactly who may be stockpiling ammunition. And this is an indicator that something untoward could be happening, so it’s an important data point for us to have.”
North Country Now pointed out the credit card tracking will occur via the use of a new merchant code, and that code will allow the tracking of not only ammo purchases but firearms as well.
One of the other gun controls signed by Hochul outlines new “warnings that gun dealers must provide to customers about the risks of firearms” and a third control bans what are commonly known as Glock switches.
Glock switches are already banned at the federal level.
This is just further proof that when it comes to Democrats and gun control, it’s never enough. Blue states like New York will never be satisfied until every last law-abiding citizen has been disarmed and left completely vulnerable to the thugs and murderers that their Soros-funded prosecutors release onto the streets. They want you left defenseless and dependent on the state for your protection, which we all know is not going to be there when you need them. They never are.
That does it for this edition of the Worldview Report. Thanks for tuning in and supporting this broadcast.
Until next time…
