Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

It’s a well-known fact that tyrants will always exploit a crisis, using it to increase their power over the people.

That’s exactly what happened in the City of Okeechobee, Florida, during Hurricane Helene.

The city took advantage of the hurricane by prohibiting carrying, selling, or displaying firearms and ammunition during its state of emergency.

The city declared a local state of emergency when Hurricane Helene approached the Florida shore. The chief of police, Donald Hagan II, warned residents that the city was banning the carrying of firearms, whether the guns were carried concealed or openly.

He also prohibited the sale of firearms and ammunition to anyone, no matter if it was a private sale or from a gun store. Stores were also not allowed to display firearms or ammunition. The state of emergency ran from 9 A.M. on September 26 through 6 A.M. on September 27.

Although the state of emergency is over, the order was alarming to many Second Amendment advicates, who say it sets a bad precedent.

Florida has preemption, meaning local law cannot overrule state law. It appears that this city might have violated the law by banning firearms.

A state of emergency doesn’t override the Florida state law or the Constitution.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Grisham tried to use an emergency order to ban the carrying of firearms, only to be rebuked in court after multiple gun rights organizations sued over the order.

Also, during the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous states and localities tried to use the so-called emergency to shut down gun shops. The attempts led to multiple lawsuits. Not a single locality or state was successful in defending the shutdowns.

Gun Owners of America Florida State Director Luis Valdes was visibly upset that a Florida city would try to ban firearms during an emergency. He points out that criminals take advantage of law-abiding citizens during natural disasters such as hurricanes. Since criminals do not obey the law, the order means that only the victims would be disarmed.

Another one of the lessons of Hurricane Helene was that electric vehicles and flood waters do not mix.

In fact, they can be a lethal combination.

Breitbart reports that a Tesla electric vehicle caught fire while parked inside a garage that was flooded with saltwater from Hurricane Helene in Florida, prompting officials to issue warnings to EV owners in storm-affected areas.

WFLA reports that dramatic surveillance footage released by Pinellas County authorities in Florida shows the moment a parked Tesla spontaneously burst into flames inside a garage that had been inundated by floodwaters from Hurricane Helene.

The video shows how the fire originated underneath the electric vehicle and rapidly spread, completely engulfing the car in flames within a span of just one minute as thick, billowing smoke filled the cluttered garage space.

The alarming electric car fires occurred after Hurricane Helene battered Florida and other southeastern states including Georgia and North Carolina, causing record flooding in many areas.

Meanwhile, the shocking Hurricane footage continues to emerge from what now resembles a war zone. So far the storm has left 140 dead and a trail of destruction stretching 400 miles long.

Here is one clip from Biltmore Village near Ashville, North Carolina, posted to YouTube by the Life Storms Media channel.

Time is running out in the effort to avert a potentially devastating U.S. ports strike.

Fourteen ports from New England to Texas were set to shut down today, October 1, as thousands of longshoremen are ready to go on strike over demands for higher pay and protections from robots taking their jobs.

The work stoppage threatens to bring trade to a halt along the coast and send ripples through the broader economy.

The Biden White House has said it will not get involved to end the strike.

A prolonged strike at three dozen ports could lead to shortages in retail stores and price increases, and even a short strike would snarl the supply chains that link the United States to the rest of the world, the Washington Post reports.

With no signs of progress between the International Longshoremen’s Association and an alliance representing ports and shippers, businesses have been preparing for months in case of a strike. But analysts say the economic impact of a shutdown will be impossible to avoid.

According to the Post, the effects of a strike are not expected to be as severe as the disruptions to trade during the pandemic, but could rekindle worries about shortages in stores and inflation just weeks from a presidential election in which the economy has been a key issue.

When you’ve got the Washington Post warning that the disruptions won’t be too bad, watch out. This is one that could really put a hurt on the supply chain.

Politico is reporting that Iran’s president is literally begging other Islamic nations to help Iran fight Israel. In response, Iran has heard only crickets.

Iran’s president said “regional countries, Islamic countries” must stand together to confront Israel over its recent strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In a pre-recorded interview that aired Sunday on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” the Iranian leader placed the blame for the ongoing violence in that region squarely on Israel, as opposed to his own country or Hezbollah, the belligerent group it has sponsored for decades.

“Hezbollah by herself cannot stand against a country that is armed to the teeth,” he told Zakaria, “and has access to weapons systems that are far superior to anything else.”

Speaking to Zakaria through an interpreter, the Iranian president added: “Islamic countries must convene meeting in order to formulate a reaction to what is occurring. Now, if we’re speaking of Hezbollah alone, what can Hezbollah do alone? The regional countries, Islamic countries must sit together.”

A strike by Israel late Friday killed Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah; that action followed a remote attack by Israel in which it exploded pagers being carried by members of Hezbollah, killing dozens and also disrupting the group’s communications. Israel has also launched airstrikes on Lebanon and is poised to embark on a full-scale ground invasion dubbed Operation Northern Arrows.

In the interview with Zakaria, which was conducted before the death of Nasrallah, Iran’s president said he would find a way to penalize Israel for its conduct if no one else steps up and does so.

Hezbollah, a thorn in Israel’s side for decades, began launching rockets at Israel after the lethal incursion last October 7 by Hamas from Gaza into Israel.

Zero Hedge reports that the pro-Iranian Iraqi paramilitary factions are going on the offensive in response to the Friday assassination of Hassan Nasrallah.

At least two Katyusha rockets were fired at a military base hosting U.S. forces near Baghdad International Airport, two Iraqi military officials told Reuters early on Tuesday."

Air defenses at the base have reportedly intercepted the rockets. The location has come under attack several times before.

This weekend saw large protests outside of the US Embassy in Baghdad's Green Zone and clashes with local police, as mostly Shia demonstrators tried to breach the embassy compound.

In other news, a shelter in place order has been extended indefinitely after a fire at a chemical plant in Georgia sparked an unstoppable chemical reaction.

The order was issued for more than 90,000 residents of Rockdale County after the fire at BioLab in Conyers sent a massive plume of dark smoke high into the sky that could been seen from miles away.

The fire was extinguished on Sunday but officials say air quality surveys have detected chlorine in the air coming out of the lab.

BioLab manufactures pool and spa treatment products - including chlorine.

The Sunday afternoon fire led to about 17,000 evacuations after a sprinkler at the facility malfunctioned and sprayed water on a chemical, sparking an explosion.

Air quality surveys done by the Environmental Protection Agency and the state Environmental Protection Division 'revealed the harmful irritant chlorine' detected in the air from the fire at the BioLab plant in Conyers, Georgia, the Rockdale County Government said in statement early Monday.

The statement said of the accident that has affected the entire county:

“For everyone sheltering in place, the best practice is to turn the air conditioning off and keep windows and doors shut.”

Fire Chief Marian McDaniel said the smoke may linger for several days.

Social media users have reported a chlorine smell as far as Atlanta.

Atlanta's Emergency Management said on X: “We are investigating the numerous reports of a haze and strong chemical smell across Fulton County. We are investigating and will pass along any and all information we receive. If you have concerns, STAY INSIDE, CLOSE windows and doors, TURN OFF A/C & other ventilation system.”

It's not clear what health hazards the smoke might pose.

The fire was brought under control around 4 p.m. Sunday, officials said.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has issued a subpoena to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for intelligence reports, documents, and communications in the department’s possession related to Governor Timothy Walz’s connections to the Chinese Communist Party.

According to recently received whistleblower disclosures, the Committee has learned of a Microsoft Teams group chat among DHS employees and additional intelligence reports that contain information regarding Governor Walz’s connections to the CCP.

Comer wrote:

“The Committee has recently received whistleblower disclosures informing the Committee of serious concern among Department of Homeland personnel regarding a longstanding connection between the CCP and Minnesota Governor Timothy James Walz.”

The Oversight Committee has been conducting a government-wide investigation of how federal agencies are addressing the CCP’s infiltration and influence campaign to weaken and corrupt the United States. During briefings held with over 20 federal agencies, the Committee has learned of the CCP’s efforts to influence subnational government leaders, including state governors. In August, Chairman Comer launched an investigation into Governor Walz following reports detailing the Governor’s longstanding connections to CCP entities and officials.

“The Committee’s investigation of the CCP seeks to understand the extent of the CCP’s infiltration and influence campaign and to identify legislative reforms to combat CCP political warfare targeting prominent Americans for elite capture. If a state governor and major political party’s nominee for Vice President of the United States has been a witting or unwitting participant in the CCP’s efforts to weaken our nation, this would strongly suggest that there are alarming weaknesses in the federal government’s effort to defend the United States from the CCP’s political warfare that must be urgently addressed.

Chairman Comer concluded:

“The information required of DHS by the Committee’s subpoena will inform the Committee’s understanding of how successful the CCP has been in waging political warfare in and against the United States, how effectively federal agencies are addressing the communist regime’s campaign, and what reforms are necessary to counter this threat.”

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.

John Kerry, the onetime Democrat party chieftain who served as Joe Biden's climate spokesman, jetting around the world in fuel-guzzling private jets to accept awards and make speeches, has joined the likes of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Antony Blinken and many other Democrat leaders who are turning their backs on the First Amendment and Bill of Rights.

Kerry admitted in the wide open that he wants the First Amendment rights to free speech and free press to be reined in and severely curtailed.

And all because it gets in the way of information he doesn't like, and he thinks should be censored.

He explained as follows (full quote in italics):

The dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing. It is part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue. It's really hard to govern today. You can't – the referees we used to have to determine what is a fact and what isn't a fact have kind of been eviscerated, to a certain degree. And people go and self select where they go for their news, for their information. And then you get into a vicious cycle.

So it is really hard, much harder to build consensus today than at any time in the 40-50 years I've been involved in this.

You know there's a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you're going to have some accountability on facts, etc.

But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda and they're putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.

There you have it.

John Kerry going full tyrant.

Kerry is one of the Democratic Party’s paragons of so-called democracy. He goes all over the world lecturing other countries on how they’re not living up to U.S. standards of democracy, and yet here he is making the case against democracy. How can you have democracy without freedom of speech?

He’s actually calling for a new form of authoritarianism that allows climate alarmists like himself to be able to, as he says, implement change, as they see fit, with no accountability by a free and fair press.

Only a government lapdog press is legitimate in his eyes, and any who question the authority of self-appointed elites like himself are seen as enemies of the people. That’s the very definition of totalitarianism.

There’s no other way to describe it.

That’s why globalist elites in the West have always envied communist China, because the government there can simply implement whatever policy they like. And that’s why China is said by Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum to be the model for the world moving into the Great Reset and a more controlled society.

That does it for this edition of the Worldview Report. Thanks for watching and supporting this broadcast.

Until next time…
