Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.
In what the liberal mainstream media is calling a “shocking and last-minute turn of events in Texas,” a bill that would raise the minimum age to purchase semiautomatic rifles from 18 to 21 passed out of a House committee Monday.
According to Yahoo News, family members of the Uvalde victims “burst into sobs and cheers in the Capitol hearing room when two Republicans joined all the Democrats on the committee to advance the bill by an 8-5 vote.”
Yahoo News, posting an article from USA Today, went on to quote Uvalde family members in an emotion-driven article. Among those quoted was Kimberly Garcia, whose 10-year-old daughter was one of the 19 fourth graders killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde on May 24, 2022.
“I'm feeling very overwhelmed, very emotional,” Garcia said through tears after the committee vote.
She added that, “I was super worried, but I feel like my daughter did this, and I feel like she's making a difference, and I'm proud of her. I hate that it's come down to this, but I know that she's always with me, and I know that I'm not going to let anyone ever forget her.”
Uvalde relatives have, according to USA Today, been advocating for lawmakers to pass House Bill 2744 for months, coming to the Capitol nearly every week during the legislative session to demand its passage and even waiting more than 13 hours to testify in support of the bill in a committee hearing in April.
Their “unrelenting push for lawmakers to pass gun control legislation” has been an uphill battle in a Republican-dominated Legislature that has loosened gun restrictions in recent sessions. Monday’s vote, however, was a significant victory for the families and Yahoo News, USA Today and other members of the corporate media were there to celebrate with them.
As recently as 10 a.m. Monday, Republican Rep. Ryan Guillen, who chairs the committee where the bill was pending, had said he was not planning to bring the bill up for a vote because he didn’t believe it had the votes to pass in the full House.
But by 11 a.m., after an “emotional protest and news conference by the Uvalde families and gun control activists Monday,” Guillen changed course.
The Uvalde gunman purchased his AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle legally just days after his 18th birthday.
While Monday’s progress was an unexpected win for the gun grabbers, the future of the bill remains uncertain. Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan still has to allow a floor debate, and Governor Greg Abbott said he believes the measure is unconstitutional.

Speaking of gun-control debates, there was an interesting one between Arizona’s Kari Lake and the corporate-owned journalist Piers Morgan.
Lake, fighting off continuous interruptions from Morgan, held her own, and then some.
Take a look.

Morgan tried to dominate her but Lake would have none of it. Good for her.

The New York Times is getting around $100 million from Google over three years as part of a broad deal that allows Google to feature Times content on some of its platforms, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.
The deal includes the Times' participation in Google News Showcase, a product that pays publishers to feature their content on Google News and some other Google platforms, according to the report, which cited people familiar with the matter.
The Times in February announced an expansion of its agreement with Google that included content distribution and subscriptions.
This union is natural as Google and the New York Times are both tied tightly to the Washington-New York deep state elites that currently run the federal government and its lapdog media comrades.
This deal also represents one deep-state media entity coming to the rescue of another. The Times, like CNN, Vice and several other establishment outlets, has fallen on hard times since the exit of Donald Trump from the White House, and so Google, which is owned by the mega-corporate entity Alphabet, is helping to keep the dying Gray Lady afloat, perhaps until Trump gets back into the White House and the Times can rejuvenate itself with more jaw-dropping fake news, such as the Russia hoax it peddled for five years and never apologized for.

Speaking of CNN, this next report had to be hard for them to produce.
Their man in the White House, Joe Biden, has seen his approval ratings fall to the lowest level of any president in 80 years.

And those approval ratings have not hit bottom yet, not with the pending indictment of Biden’s son, Hunter, which is expected any day.

Tech investor and transhumanist Peter Thiel has invested millions in life-extension technologies. The billionaire now plans to have his head placed in a deep freeze, post-death, to minus-321 degrees Fahrenheit in hopes that he might be unfrozen at a later date to have his brain and soul downloaded into a computer to achieve immortality.
Thiel told independent journalist Bari Weiss on her podcast, “Honestly with Bari Weiss,” that when death comes knocking on his door, he has opted to be cryogenically frozen, even though he isn’t entirely sure if the technology will revive him at a future date.
Weiss asked Thiel:
“Is it true that you’re signed up to be cryonically preserved when you die so that you might be brought back to life in the future?”
Thiel responded:
“Yes… But I think of it more as an ideological statement. I don’t necessarily expect it to work, but I think it’s the sort of thing we’re supposed to try to do.”
Weiss then asked Thiel if he made plans for his loved ones to be frozen too. That’s when he stated he was “not convinced” the technology works as intended, at least not yet.
Thiel’s interest in anti-aging technologies is part of a race among other billionaires fascinated with living forever. He told The Telegraph in a 2014 interview that he is signed up to be frozen by biotech firm Alcor.
In 2006, Thiel pledged $3.5 million in funding for Alcor to complete scientific research into the alleviation and eventual reversal of the debilities caused by aging.
Thiel has expressed his concern that the human race is distracted by conflicts and cultural matters while it should focus on other issues like curing cancer.
He told Weiss:
“I keep thinking that I’m not doing enough on biotech and radical life extension or even just trying to invest in curing a lot of these very big chronic diseases that we have.”
Thiel joins a list of billionaires who also want to be cryogenically preserved. Some have already had their bodies frozen at temperatures of -321°F in the hope of being revived centuries later when medical science has advanced enough to treat the cause of their death.

American Military News reports that at least 65 military doctors and dentists in the Navy Reserves were told on Friday they still had to undertake at least three more years of service, a shocking development caused by administrative record-keeping errors in their retirement credits, officials claimed as the U.S. military continues to face a historic decline in military recruits.
According to NBC News, multiple officers voiced their displeasure with the order, including one dentist who said, “They’re trying any way possible to retain us, even if it is trying to strong-hand us.”
To retire from the military with included benefits, members must serve a minimum of 20 years of qualifying service. Previously, physicians and dentists who successfully completed the Armed Forces Health Professionals Scholarship Program were granted up to four years in retirement credits if they followed up and joined the Selected Reserve after retirement.
According to a 2002 Army memorandum, the Army, Navy and Air Force were using that credit as an incentive in an attempt to retain employees in the healthcare field, considered to be a “critical wartime shortage specialty.”
Starting last year, Navy Reserve members started to see their credit from participation in the program vanish off their official record. The Air Force and Army have confirmed that they do still include participation in the program as credit towards military retirement.
“I feel like I’m trapped,” a doctor said. “It’s terrible. It’s unfair. It’s dishonorable.”
In January 2022, one doctor’s record showed that he had completed 19 years of qualifying service. Six months later, it showed a decrease to 16 years.
Cmdr. Rick Chernitzer, a Navy Personnel Command spokesperson, told NBC News that a “data migration issue” within the Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System “prematurely” credited four years of service to officers’ official records.
The clerical error previously permitted 95 people to retire with full benefits before being eligible, Chernitzer commented.
Military healthcare workers voiced their complaints about the fact that this defeats the whole purpose of the promised recruitment incentive.
One of the dentists voiced his dissatisfaction and said he would not have accepted the offer in the first place had he known.
“The four years was offered as a recruiting incentive, and to blame a migration error is a bold-faced lie,” the dentist said.
The U.S. Army missed its 2022 recruiting goal by 15,000 troops, marking a 25 percent miss from the 60,000 new soldiers it sought to recruit before the fiscal year ended on Sept. 30. It’s the worst miss on record for the service since the U.S. military became an all-volunteer force 50 years ago.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday at Moscow’s Red Square Victory Day parade that the world was at a “turning point” and stated factually a “war” had been unleashed against Russia.
He vowed victory and said Russia’s future “rests on” its soldiers fighting in Ukraine.
The traditional Soviet-style event celebrating Moscow’s victory over the Nazis took place amid security fears, 15 months into Russia’s Ukraine offensive.
“Today civilization is again at a decisive turning point,” Putin said at the parade, which included elderly veterans and soldiers from Russia’s Ukraine campaign.
“A war has been unleashed against our motherland,” he claimed.
He called for Russia to be victorious: “For Russia, for our armed forces, for victory! Hurrah!”
The Russian leader has increasingly portrayed the campaign in Ukraine as an existential conflict, which he says the West has escalated by supporting the Ukrainian government.
Putin told soldiers taking part in Moscow’s Ukraine campaign, several hundreds of whom were present at the Red Square parade, that “the whole country is with you.”
“There is nothing more important now than your combat effort,” he said.
“The security of the country rests on you today, the future of our statehood and our people depend on you.”
Putin also railed against “Western globalist elites,” accusing them of sowing conflicts and “coups” around the world.
“Their goal, and there is nothing new here, is to achieve the collapse and destruction of our country,” he said.
The longtime Russian leader vowed that Moscow would overcome this.
“But we have rebuffed international terrorism, we will protect the people of (eastern Ukraine’s) Donbas, we will ensure our security,” he said.
This appeared to be a reference to an unprecedented series of attacks on Russian soil in the run-up to the Victory Day parade, a central event under Putin’s rule.

The Biden regime is set to announce an additional $1.2 billion in military aid for Ukraine, a U.S. official told Reuters on Tuesday. The package will include air defense systems, ammunition and funding for training.
As part of the aid program, funding will be provided for HAWK air-defense systems, as well as ammunition and drones for use in air defense. According to the officials, it would also purchase rockets, artillery, satellite imaging assistance, and funds for regular maintenance and spare parts for various systems.
The package is paid from Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative funding which permits the Biden regime to purchase weapons from industry rather than depleting existing U.S. weapons supplies.
It will take longer for the aid to reach Kiev this way, but it will conserve U.S. supplies better than if it were taken straight from the U.S. military’s stockpiles.
But don’t celebrate, because the transition to this more sensible initiative only took place after U.S. stockpiles have already been severely drawn down to the lowest levels in years under the corrupt Biden regime.

Yet another young student athlete has died suddenly and unexpectedly.
At North Carolina Central University, Devin Butts, a 22-year-old member of the university’s basketball team, was expected to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences this summer. But he died last Friday, the university announced on Monday, May 8.
NCCU men’s basketball coach LeVelle Moton said:
“We are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Devin. This is a devastating tragedy for our team, fans, and the entire NCCU community.”
A Georgia native, Butts averaged 5.4 points in 17 appearances this past season for the Eagles, including a memorable 15-point performance on five made 3-pointers in the team's MEAC Championship quarterfinals victory over Delaware State on March 8.
Here is the report on his death by WRAL News in Raleigh.

And as you saw there at the end of that report, Butts is the second member of that North Carolina Central basketball team to have died unexpectedly within a week. The local media treated that story of two young, healthy athletes dying within a week as if that was normal and not worth an explanation. What a shameful excuse for journalism.
Meanwhile we continue to get reports of similarly mysterious deaths from overseas.

John Harkin, a 35-year-old soccer player for Liverpool, England, died on March 18 of cardiac arrest.
The media wants you to think this is normal. Young healthy people, some super-fit, dying suddenly. It’s not. It never has been. No matter what they say, it’s not normal.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.
NFL legend Brett Favre called for a boycott of Fox News on Monday over the sudden ousting and apparent silencing of popular conservative host Tucker Carlson.
“I’m with Tucker. Time to boycott Fox until they come to their senses and let the man speak,” the NFL Hall of Fame quarterback tweeted, along with a video from former Fox News host Megyn Kelly’s new independent show.

Yeah. That pretty much sums it up. Fox is banking on the boycott of its pathetic news station being a temporary thing. They really do believe the viewers will get over their disappointment, their anger, about the firing of the station’s most popular conservative voice. And to be frank, that’s usually what happens. People end up going back to the corporations they hate, for a myriad of reasons, some of which were alluded to by Megyn Kelly. So when it comes to boycotting woke corporations, hold your ground. Stay angry. Refuse to feed the beast that uses your money to indoctrinate you, keep you dumbed down, and ultimately enslaved.
That does it for this edition of the Worldview Report. Thanks for tuning in, and for supporting this viewer-supported broadcast, which unlike Fox News will never be woke. We will never kowtow to the powers that be at the World Economic Forum, the United Nations and the rest of the billionaire crowd of Davos elites. Those are the circles that Fox News executives run in. And it shows up in their reporting, their decision making and their hiring practices.
So if you wish to support us and keep us on the air, there are a few ways you can do that.
Until next time, I’m Brannon Howse. May God save America. Take care.
