Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

In another appointment with potential to shake up the federal health regime, Donald Trump on Friday nominated Dr. Martin Makary to lead the Food & Drug Administration. 

Makary, a Johns Hopkins University pancreatic surgeon and author of three New York Times bestsellers, has been critical of the government's role in healthcare. The role requires Senate confirmation. 

Declaring that the FDA has “lost the trust of Americans,” Trump said Makary will “course-correct and refocus the agency,” to include “properly evaluating harmful chemicals poisoning our nation's food supply and drugs and biologics being given to our nation's youth, so that we can finally address the childhood chronic disease epidemic.”

Makary grew to national notoriety as one of several highly-credentialed physicians who pushed back on many elements of the federal response to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Testifying before Congress, Makary said:

“The greatest perpetrator of misinformation during the pandemic has been the United States government. Misinformation that Covid was spread through surface transmission, that vaccinated immunity was far greater than natural immunity...that myocarditis was more common after the infection than the vaccine...that young people benefit from a booster...”

That’s the good news.

Sadly, there is also some bad news to report about Mr. Makary.

Like Trump’s pick for Surgeon General, he is very much on board with the medical establishment’s increasing reliance on vaccines to fight diseases. 

Dr. Makary supported the Covid mass-vaccination campaign, which has turned out to be a disaster. Makary only spoke out against the Covid shots when Joe Biden started pushing boosters on people of college age and younger.

Makary lamented that heavy-handed vaccine mandates “created never-vaxxers.” 

He co-wrote a study that concluded that Covid vaccine booster mandates for college students created net harm, with adverse reactions like myocarditis in young men outweighing slim benefits from vaccination.

The Epoch Times reports that Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued two more executive orders targeting Chinese Communist Party influence in his state, after announcing an initial order on November 18 aimed at protecting local dissidents from the Chinese regime’s harassment.

Abbott signed Executive Order No. GA-49 on Nov. 20 to safeguard critical infrastructure from cyberattacks and issued Executive Order No. GA-48 on November 19 to protect Texans from the CCP’s espionage operations.

Executive Order No. GA-49 directs the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Public Utility Commission of Texas to prepare for any potential cyberattacks aimed at the state’s critical infrastructure.

Under Abbott’s order, the two agencies will create a task force to study potential vulnerabilities within government systems and critical infrastructure, run response simulations to cyberattacks, and put together a committee of state agencies to “simulate a restart of Texas’ electric grid in the event of a foreign attack,” according to a Wednesday statement.

Abbott said in a statement:

“China has made it clear that they can, and will, target and attack America’s critical infrastructure. Texas will continue to protect our critical infrastructure to ensure the safety of Texans from potential threats by the Chinese Communist Party or any hostile foreign government.”

The order highlighted Volt Typhoon, one of China’s state-sponsored threat groups, and how it had targeted communications, energy, transportation, water, and wastewater systems in the United States and its territories.

Volt Typhoon, which was dismantled by a multi-agency operation in January, had maintained “access and footholds within some victim IT environments for at least five years,” the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said in February.

NATO and Ukraine agreed over the weekend to hold emergency talks on Tuesday after Russia attacked a Ukrainian military site with a new type of hypersonic ballistic missile in response to Ukraine using U.S. ATACMS and British Storm Shadow missiles to strike deep inside Russia last week. 

The conflict is “entering a decisive phase,” Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Friday, and “taking on very dramatic dimensions.”

Poland is host to a brand new U.S. ballistic missile base that opened on November 13 with missiles aimed at Russia.

Ukraine’s parliament canceled a session as security was tightened following Thursday’s Russian strike on a military facility in the city of Dnipro.

In a stark warning to the West, President Vladimir Putin said in a nationally televised speech that the attack with the intermediate-range Oreshnik missile was in retaliation for Kyiv´s use of U.S. and British missiles capable of striking deeper into Russian territory.

Putin said Western air-defense systems would be powerless to stop the new missile.

Ukrainian military officials said the missile that hit Dnipro had reached a speed of Mach 11 and carried six nonnuclear warheads each releasing six submunitions.

Speaking Friday to military and weapons industries officials, Putin said Russia is launching production of the Oreshnik.

Putin said:

“No one in the world has such weapons. Sooner or later other leading countries will also get them. We are aware that they are under development.”

But he added, “we have this system now. And this is important.”

Testing the missile will continue, “including in combat, depending on the situation and the character of security threats created for Russia,” Putin said, noting there is “a stockpile of such systems ready for use.”

The Dallas Express reports that a California judge has given Jeff Younger’s ex-wife, Anne Georgulas, authority to castrate their son, James.

“I lost all parental rights to my sons. Goodbye, boys. Perhaps, we will meet when you are adults. California Judge Juhas gave my ex-wife authority to castrate my son, James. All contact with my boys must be supervised. I won’t do that. I send letters and gifts to my sons. My ex is not required to give them to the boys. I cannot post pictures of my sons. Let my story be a cautionary one for young men. Fathers have no rights to their children. Do not enter the family law system,” Younger posted on X.

The divorced couple has been engaged in a years-long custody battle over their children. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Younger petitioned the Texas Supreme Court in 2022 to force the return of their children, who had been moved to California by their mother. However, the court rejected the petition on December 30, 2022.

Younger maintains that Georgulas took their children to California to evade Texas law and benefit from SB 107. California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill, which went into effect on January 1, 2023.

The bill’s primary author, California lawmaker Sen. Scott Wiener (D), said that the legislation was to provide a “refuge for trans kids and their families.”

The recent update from the years-long custody battle has been met with reactions from X users and local Republican leaders.

“James Younger was abused by his doctors, teachers, legislators and judges and others. Texas failed him when there was every opportunity to save him. Every branch of government in Texas sat on their hands and James Younger will pay the price,” House District 91 State-Representative-elect David Lowe told The Dallas Express.

“A Los Angeles Judge ruled 12-year-old James Younger’s mom can transition him from male to female. Help James’s father Jeff fight for an emergency STAY, and then take this to the U.S. Supreme Court for a federal ban!” former West Virginia House of Delegates member Derrick Evans posted on X.

The U.S. Supreme Court is sending a chilling message to gun owners when it comes to encounters with police: comply or die.

In refusing to hear an appeal in Argueta v. Jaradi, the Supreme Court is allowing a lower court ruling to stand, reports legal scholar John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute.

He said this decision threatens to erode Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable use of force by police for all citizens who exercise their Second Amendment rights or who are just mistakenly thought to be carrying a gun.

In urging the Court to hear the case, the Rutherford Institute had warned in an amicus brief that allowing the Fifth Circuit’s ruling to stand could contribute to a rise in the number of incidents in which police officers shoot and kill armed citizens who pose no threat. 

For instance, among those shot by police in recent years merely for possessing a gun during an encounter with police were Roger Fortson, a Senior Airman with the U.S. Air Force, who was killed at his apartment in Florida; Philando Castile, who was shot during a traffic stop in Minnesota; and Andrew Scott, who was killed during a late-night visit by police who had the wrong address.

Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute and author of Battlefield America: The War on the American People, stated:

“No one should have to choose between their constitutional rights or give up one right to exercise another. With every ruling handed down, it becomes more apparent that we live in an age of hollow justice where the courts have become fixated on siding with government agents rather than with safeguarding the rights enshrined in the Constitution.”

Slay News reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has just signed a new law that seeks to protect children from radical gender ideology.

On Saturday, Putin signed a bill into law that prohibits the adoption of Russian children by citizens of countries where “gender transition” surgery is legal.

Russian lower house Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin was one of the authors of the bill.

In response to Putin signing the bill into law, Volodin asserted:

“It is extremely important to eliminate possible dangers in the form of gender reassignment that adopted children may face in these countries.”

The adoption ban applies to 15 countries that allow “sex-change” treatments, including Australia, Argentina, Canada, and several European countries.

Citizens from the United States were previously banned from adopting Russian children in 2012.

In addition, Putin also signed legislation that seeks to promote families.

The pro-family bill bans the spread of material that discourages people from having children.

Those found guilty of promoting anti-child propaganda face fines of up to 5 million rubles (about $50,000).

Proponents of the bills contend that public arguments against having children are part of Western efforts to weaken Russia by encouraging population decline.

The bills were previously approved by both houses of Russia’s parliament.

After being signed by Putin, they have now become Russian law.

As Russia’s population declines, Putin has made statements advocating large families.

Last year, the Russian leader urged women to have as many as eight children.

Russia also banned gender-transition medical procedures in 2023.

The Russian Supreme Court declared the LGBTQ+ movement to be “extremist.”

In 2022, Putin signed a law prohibiting the distribution of LGBTQ+ propaganda to people of all ages, expanding a ban issued in 2013 on disseminating the material to minors.

Putin has repeatedly characterized the West as “satanic” and accused it of trying to undermine Russia by exporting liberal ideologies.

Also from Slay News, the annual November deer hunt in Michigan has been rocked by tragedy after several hunters died suddenly from heart attacks.

At least three deer hunters have been confirmed as dying of heart attacks during the current 16-day season.

According to the Associated Press, three men all dropped dead within 48 hours.

All three were considered to be fit and healthy, the AP noted.

Two of the men reportedly died suddenly while working to haul away the heavy animals.

Dr. William Morrone, the medical examiner for Bay, Midland, Tuscola, and Arenac counties, expressed shock over the deaths. He told the AP:

“I’ve never seen three people die in 48 hours from heart attacks while deer hunting before.”

Those confirmed to have died from heart attacks were aged 57, 65, and 83, officials revealed.

The men died in Arenac and Tuscola counties.

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.

Donald Trump has made some good picks for his cabinet and important non-cabinet positions.

Tom Homan as border czar was a homerun.

RFK Jr. for HHS makes total sense.

Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence. I can understand that pick as well.

Pete Hegseth will be solid at the Department of Defense.

And Pam Bondi to lead the DOJ, while not Trump’s first choice and nowhere near as hardnosed as Matt Gaetz, seems like it could be at least a step in the right direction for that weaponized agency.

But let’s be honest, some of Trump’s other picks have been head scratchers and appear designed to placate the deep state, rather than dismantle it.

Marco Rubio as Secretary of State leaves me and other America-firsters cold. Rubio has a history of advocating new and diverse war-making scenarios around the world. It’s hard to see how him leading the CFR-infested State Department would be any different than putting Hillary Clinton in that position.

Mike Waltz as national security advisor is also troubling. As a member of Congress, Waltz voted for every Ukraine giveaway that was offered, and now he’s a lead advisor to a president who says he wants to end the Ukraine gravy train.

Then you have Scott Bessent nominated for Treasury Secretary. He was once a top advisor to billionaire leftist George Soros. Wall Street reportedly breathed a sigh of relief when Trump announced his selection of Mr. Bessent. Need I say more? He’s one of them. Not an outsider.

And perhaps the most disturbing pick of all is Trump’s choice of Fox News medical analyst Janette Nesheiwat as Surgeon General. This is a woman so tone deaf and so obedient to the deep state that she repeatedly shilled for Big Pharma’s death shots to a nationwide audience.

Here she is in all her brilliance pushing the shots for pay.

There were so many people eminently more qualified for this position than Janette Nesheiwat. What about Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. James Thorp, or the excellent Florida surgeon general, Dr. Ladipo?

Instead, we get a talking head from Fox News. This is unacceptable and Trump needs to hear from us that it’s unacceptable.

Trump needs to do a better job vetting these people. He also needs better instincts to know when it’s appropriate to overrule a bad recommendation from his transition team.

But have you ever considered this? Maybe Donald Trump is just not as conservative as so many of his supporters believe him to be. Maybe he is a moderate conservative with a gift for one-liners that appeal to his MAGA base.

This is a problem that’s bigger than just Trump. It explains why our country continues to slide further into the abyss.

Republican politicians at the congressional and executive level don’t seem interested in stopping the slide, they only want to slow it down.

In contrast, Democrat presidents and congressional leaders are never bashful with power. They know how to maximize their authority so much better than Republicans. They literally fill their cabinet slots with people they know will be 100 percent obedient to the leftist cause. 

When it comes to the right-wing cause, Republicans are hit and miss.

Here’s the bottom line: It’s impossible to drain the swamp when half of your picks to lead the federal bureaucracy have a history of cooperating with it.
