The Notre Dame Cathedral has been witness to many significant historical events over the centuries but it suffered a devastating fire last Monday.  In this week's boralogue, John looks at the symbolism of the fire and ties it to Easter Sunday and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Though it may have been destroyed, it will rise again.

Referenda and initiatives, like Brexit in England and bills in the U.S. limiting government power, are voted on by the people.  But does it ultimately matter?  Robert Natelson (www.i2i.org), Senior Fellow in Constitutional Jurisprudence at the Independent Institute shows how the powers that be, including the courts, will go against the will of the people if it doesn't fit with their narrative.

Google, Apple, and Microsoft are teaming up with foreign powers to spy on the public.  Rex Lee (www.mysmartprivacy.com), Senior Analyst and Strategy Advisor at BLACKOPS Partners is back with us to discuss how backdoor surveillance technology embedded in our electronic devices is being used by countries like China and Russia to keep tabs on its citizens.  Efforts, though, are underway to curtail some of the abuses.

John and Producer Steve finish up the program this week commenting on two humorous clips of democratic lawmakers who are chairs of their committees – Maxine Waters and Jerry Nadler – who had embarrassing moments last week interacting with witnesses and their testimony.

John’s quote of the week:

"Just as on Easter Sunday, we have hope.  We are crushed and brought down and ultimately killed in our bodies oftentimes for Christ.  We still have hope because we shall yet live with him.  He who believes in me, even though he die, yet shall he live."
