In observing the law, there is the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.  In this week's boralogue, John observes that in order to keep society intact, we must observe both aspects of the law.  Some laws, though, have been corrupted such as civil asset forfeiture, environmental law, and yes even impeachment.  Freedoms associated with these laws are threatened because, even though the letter of the law is observed, the spirit of the law is ignored.

An often taboo subject not often covered in the media or in politics is that of sex trafficking.  Deanna Lynn (www.refugeforwomen.org), author and Affiliate of Refuge for Women, joins us to recount her experience of being lured into the sex trade, how she managed to escape from and rise above it, and how she helps others who have gone through similar experiences.

The anthem kneeling controversy has somewhat died down, but in its heyday many people who spoke out against the protestors were vilified in the media.  Pastor Ronnie Mitchem (www.victoryandpraise.com), Founder and Pastor of Victory & Praise Worship Center in Texas, shares his experience after he kicked two players – both Africa-American – off his football team for kneeling during the anthem.

John and Producer Steve take a 30,000-foot view of impeachment, leftist narratives surrounding it, and predictions of where it goes from here.  Then, John closes out the show with Tamar Sternthal (www.camera.org), Director of the Israel office of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting, who discusses instances of anti-Semitism in England and the U.S. and the media's role in it.

John’s quote of the week:

"The spirit of the law says that we understand why that law was created.  And while we can get around the letter of the law, as a moral people we are self-disciplined and won't do that.  Why?  Because we understand that we must observe the spirit of the law in addition to the letter of the law in order to keep the whole system intact."
