How do we define the terms of any battle? In this week's boralogue, John looks at the weaponization of language when it comes to political and cultural battles, looking back at the Third Reich and the Spanish Inquisition to compare to the tactics of social justice warriors today. Free speech and open discussion of ideas are what we have now. We need to stand up against those who would take those freedoms away.
Immigration is at the top of every news cycle today, but are we getting the whole truth about who's coming here? Todd Bensman (www.cis.org), Senior National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, reveals the truth about where those who are coming from South America are actually from and discusses the similarities and differences between Europe's and America's approach to handling the migrant crisis.
Is there another Reformation on the horizon for the Catholic Church? John Zmirak (www.stream.org), Senior Editor at The Stream returns to examine the controversies surrounding the current Pope and the need for reform now that socialist ideas seem to be taking hold within the Church.
What is the difference between justice and social justice? Mark Hendrickson (www.visionandvalues.org), Economic Professor at Grove City College, joins us to discuss how government should ideally function and then how it would function should social justice warriors and the PC elites take over.
John finishes up the program this week reviewing several news stories, including the government shutdown, our growing debt problem, and the ability to exercise free speech when it comes to politically correct issues.
John’s quote of the week:
"Intersectionality is an effort to make appear logical that which is fundamentally illogical. They are trying to put it in some kind of order where they can contain the irrational chaos."
