How The Government Plans to Use Pastors to Take Your Guns

Reporter: NSKLA News 12’s Jeff Ferrell discovered the clergy would help the help government with potentially their biggest problem: us.

Jeff Ferrell: Gun confiscation is exactly what happened during the state of emergency following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. U.S. troops also arrived, something far easier to do even now thanks to last year’s elimination of the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act. That forbid U.S. troops from policing on American soil. If marshal law were enacted here at home like depicted in the movie The Siege, easing public fears and quelling dissent would be critical and that’s exactly what the clergy response team, as it’s called, helped accomplish in New Orleans.

Male: Jeff, the primary thing that we say to anybody is let’s cooperate and get this thing over with, and then we’ll settle the differences once the crisis is over.

Jeff Ferrell: Such clergy response teams would walk a tightrope between the needs of the government versus the wishes of the public.

Male: In a lot of cases these clergy would already be known in the neighborhoods in which they’re helping to diffuse that situation.

Jeff Ferrell: For the clergy, one of the biggest tools that they will have in helping calm the public down or obey the law is the Bible itself, specifically Romans, Romans 13.

Male: Because the government is established by the Lord and that’s what we believe in the Christian faith. That’s what’s stated in the scripture.

While God allows governments to come into being, that does not mean God approves of every government. To draw an analogy, God allowed the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001, but God did not approve of them. When civil government steps outside of God’s ordained purposes and persecutes righteous people, promotes evil, and does in just to the innocent, the moral authority of the civil government has been lost and Christians are free to disobey. The Apostle Paul in Romans 13 did not instruct us to obey every command of government. While we can hope never to have to disobey the laws of our communities and country in order to walk in good conscience with God, there is no guarantee that we will never be called to civil disobedience. Don’t be persuaded by the pansies in the pulpit that spew their ignorance either out of their own free will or because they have become useful idiots for the government in depriving you of your God given constitutional rights and obligations.

John Piper:  No I’m not a pacifist. I’m not a pacifist. I believe there should be a militia. I believe there should be policemen with Billy clubs and guns. They should take out guys that are killing people and I believe in the military to protect a land from aggression. And I believe that fathers should protect their children even using force, but if they avoid killing somebody, of course they should avoid killing somebody. And having a gun is good way not to avoid killing somebody. We don’t need guns in our house. And I’m not against hunters, good grief. Don’t get on my case. Don’t write any letters about Piper doesn’t believe he should have bows and arrows and rifles and hunting gear. Of course that’s a fully legitimate thing and I don’t even – I’m not gonna get in your face if you have a gun lying in your drawer. I just think it’s not very wise. Those who live by the gun will die by the gun.

Christians should not own guns. Really? What would you do if you were in Nazi Germany when the Nazi’s were doing what they were doing to the Jews. Would you have been wishing you had a gun to stand up and defend the innocent life? Why do we have a second amendment? It is not for deer hunting. It is not for going out, as he says, and hunting deer. It is to avoid tyranny from a government. Freedom is when the government is afraid of the people. Tyranny is when the people are afraid of the government and when you have Muslims gangs, MS13 gangs, communist groups, and certainly reports by a national security experts, Muslims bringing in automatic weapons into mosque to build as their armory for the day they declare jihad. You better hope American Christians are armed to defend the innocent, the elderly, the infirmed, the sick, the widows, the orphans. And then he says we don’t need guns in our house and he says a good way not to kill someone is to not have a gun. This again is immature, I believe, foolish, liberal talking points and the sad thing is the many pastors that should know better that quote him and speak with him, and I believe are a bridge to his liberalism.

Male: A man or a woman who wants to defend his or her family legally owns a firearm in case someone comes into their home. How is that un-Christian?

Robert Shank: Well, first of all you’re making an immediate decision that if someone invades your home, they are going to die. So you are ready to kill another human being in your home. That brings about a big ethical question for the Christian. And we’re told in the Bible, we’re even love our enemies.

Male: Even a potential intruder, someone who comes into your home?

Robert Shank: Absolutely.

Male: Do you wanna see gun laws change?

Robert Shank: I have no legislative agenda. I’m a minister.

Well, that’s an interesting comment coming from the Reverend Robert Shank, who’s part of a website entitled prayers in action. And on that website his friend, social justice warrior Pastor Joel Hunter has stated, “When will Christian leaders and all people of faith, the moral leaders of our society recognize that our cultural has so radically changed from the one that established the second amendment, that its intent would now be better fulfilled with common sense qualifiers?” Well, how do you do that, Reverend Shank, without legislation?

Robert Shank: When you look at Newtown, 20 tykes blown to pieces; add to that Orlando, 49 dead, 58 wounded and injured; add to that Las Vegas, 58 dead, 850 wounded and injured; Sutherland Springs, 26 slaughtered in their pews, 20 more wounded; and now the Parkland High School shooting, 17 dead, 14 wounded. What did it have in common? One weapon.

What the Reverend Shank does not bother to tell you is that those school shootings all occurred in gun free zones where it is illegal for the teacher to be armed to defend themselves, their fellow teachers, as well as their students. He also doesn’t bother to tell you that the 49 people killed in Orlando were killed in a gun free zone. Nor does he mention that the murderer was an Islamic jihadist. Being that murder is already illegal, does the Reverend Shank really believe that laws that restrict Americans from being armed is going to stop those intent on committing murder? The examples he gives proves that an unarmed population is an easy target for being slaughtered.

Robert Shank: A high capacity, rapid fire, semi-automatic rifle that nobody needs. Law enforcement, I’ll grant you law enforcement may need this weapon. Nobody else needs it.

Really? Because in 2017, it was a citizen armed with a AR-15 that stopped a murderer who was armed with an AR-15 in the Sutherland Church massacre. Mr. Shank, are you not aware that there are jihadis that have infiltrated America, that have AR-15s? Not to mention drug gangs, MS-13, and other criminals. How are Americans to defend themselves against someone with an AR-15 if not with an AR-15? Or maybe they could use a peashooter.

Male: One thing to look at one side of the equation about guns being misused, but you’ve gotta look at the other side of equation as well. Over 800,000 times a year, somebody uses a firearm in this country to protect themselves and their families from a criminal attack.

Those who have signed on to Shank’s radical agenda include Max Lucado, Joel Hunter, and Lynne Hybels.  Ironically, all of them have signed onto the evangelical immigration roundtable that’s reportedly funded by globalist George Soros. So these guys want to limit the rights of Americans and their ability to defend themselves using the second amendment while openly pushing for illegal immigrants to come into America when it is known that these un-vetted immigrants are a Trojan horse for Islamic Jihadists.

Christianity Today reports that Tim Keller and Max Lucado join hundreds of evangelical leaders in opposing President Trump refugee ban. World Religion News declared that 500 evangelical leaders signed a letter against Trump’s immigration order. That includes Max Lucado, Tim Keller and his wife, as well as Lynne Hybels. In October of 2018, the Christian Post reported that there was a Christian group that launched a nationwide “revival” tour to oppose republicans in the midterms. Would you be shocked to find out that Pastor Rob Shank was part of that? And Shane Claiborne was involved. Ironically, Shane Claiborne, emergent church pastor, also wrote the forward to the book by social justice warrior John Perkins that is praised on video by John MacArthur.
