President Biden recently addressed governors around the nation.  Ears perked up when he said there’s no federal solution to dealing with the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.  This is in contrast to the campaign he waged in which he promised to shut down the virus.  The White House has been back-peddling on that statement as many have been asking that if there’s no federal solution, why the 4 shots as well as the federal mandates?

Chris discusses some of the updates on vaccines with the stories of how certain countries in the West are shutting down during the Christmas holiday season — citing fears of the Covid virus as the reason why. The new Chancellor of Germany — Olaf Scholz — has taken over for Angela Merkel and immediately warns against the “minority” of anti-vaxxers in his country. The German media says that his words signal the coming end of patience with those who resist the “facts” concerning the coronavirus.

There’s so much going on that attempts to take us away from Christ. Jim presented details concerning one such effort involving the Satanic Temple. They’re attempting to mock Christmas via “artwork” at the Illinois Capitol rotunda to celebrate the satanic holiday, Sol Invictus.

Others are trying to introduce children to the occult via toys. One such effort involves the Magic Mixies Magical Misting Cauldron. Using the concept of spells, children are encouraged to mix a potion in the cauldron to create their own pet.

Why is this significant? As Jim reported, According to the Daily Wire, the number of people who identify as witches outnumber those who are Presbyterians according to a 2018 poll.

Sadly, what such people fail to realize is that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Philippians 2:10-11)

The slippery slope fallacy is the claim that a particular action will trigger a negative chain of events, positing as true a number of vaguely defined steps in between that draws out an emotional response.  John leads off the show this week looking at a couple of slippery slope examples in the news today.

Here’s a quick look at some of the stories that made the cut for this week’s edition of the News Round-Up:

–Dr. Jane Orient from the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons warns that in addition to being subjected to various forms of censorship, for the first time in living memory, American doctors are getting threat letters from licensure boards warning them against disturbing, harmful “misinformation”.

–The U.S. Supreme Court just left in place New York’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers that allows for no religious exemptions.

It all began last Friday evening when a severe weather system came through multiple states.  Tornadoes formed in Arkansas bringing 150 MPH winds.  Although the damage was widespread, much of the focus has been on Kentucky.  The media has reported that at least 90 people have lost their lives, 80 of them from Kentucky and of those from that state, at least 12 of them were children, including a 2 month old.

It is said that those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. But the lesson that history teaches is that most people don’t know the lessons of history. Here this week to help us understand the mindset of progressives – a group that never seems to learn from history – is Pedro Blas Gonzalez, Professor of Philosophy at Barry University. Biden by this stupid act may have delivered the final blow to U.S. credibility, raising grave doubts in the minds of U.S. allies, in effect telling U.S. allies that they are on their own, especially if the adversary threatens or employs nuclear weapons.

Warnings continue in the news concerning the COVID Omicron variant.  The solution from Dr. Fauci, the CDC, the FDA, and the Biden administration is to get vaccinated.  Then after that, get the second one, then a booster, and they’ll determine down the road if another booster will be needed.  Teenagers are being told to get the shot.  Tests are underway to have the shot tested on those less than 5 years of age.
